Let's see the pics. I'm adding something. I know a lot of people just need a couple words of advice so here goes. I'm going to number them and I hope everyone does the same.
Hey! When I shot USPSA, and I dropped a shot, or hit a no-shoot, THAT was one of my excuses... "My socks are too tight!"

5. Buy a Dillon 550B for reloading. Notice I didn't say another brand. There just isn't another brand. You won't save money. You'll shoot more.
No question about it, Dillon is top of the line. While I've got an RL-550B, if you can afford it, go with the 650. The auto-indexing is quite handy. If you can't afford the RL-550B, don't give up and get an el-cheapo from another company... At least try to get yourself a Dillon Square Deal B. They're a lot cheaper, but limiting in a number of ways, including the fact that it uses non-standard dies. But if you're in a pinch, and want to get into reloading relatively cheaply, consider the SDB. Finally, Dillon Precision takes customer service VERY seriously. I once called them, telling them that I had broken a part on my press, and asked how much it would cost for a replacement. They asked for my address, and the next afternoon I had not only the part I had broken, but 2 spares, AND the base piece, just in case I had damaged it (it was part of the primer feed). They shipped it overnight express at no charge! Then I received a call later that day to make sure that everything was working properly. I still get "The Blue Press" whenever it comes out, even though I haven't bought anything from them in a few years.
9.Targets. If you have your own place to shoot, you can buy a pack of styrofoam picnic plates and then go to Home Depot for light garden fence posts. A fifty pack of plates and a half dozen posts under 25 dollars will take a long time to use up. The plate is held by the top clip on the post.
Styrofoam OR plain, white paper plates, and I just use a staple gun with plain wooden strips.
11. Wilson makes a great magazine for 1911 45 Autos. Mec-Gar is the best handgun manufacturer for the other pistols.
Wilson Combat makes awesome magazines, but I've also had good luck with Chip McCormick's mags as well. Never had a misfeed.

Agreed! If you can find a club that offers it, be sure to check out (bowling) pin shooting. Believe it or not, it translates quite well into other sorts of competition AND it's a whole lot of fun!

Buy American. After buying everything you can think of that’s made in the U.S.A., then consider buying from foreign manufacturers.
15. Buy a gun safe for the firearms you aren’t using at the moment.
16.Volunteer to teach the next generation. Sorry, I’m all through teaching democrats. No use arming the enemy.
17. Buying cleaning rods from Walmart or using military steel cleaning rods is a horrible idea. Dewey cleaning rods are coated with a plastic like substance. Don’t drag a steel or aluminun rod through that barrel.
Bore Snakes are one of the greatest advances in gun cleaning.
Be careful of the chemicals. Make sure you don’t leave any behind. It will make you cry.
With that RCBS APS Bench Priming Tool, do you have to buy their primers, or do you load the primers INTO the strips? I can’t imagine having to load the individual primers into strips.
There are a couple of caveats like use with CCI or Winchester Primers only, but I have never had any trouble, and I can sit in front of the tube and prime brass for loading later.
A Dillon is on my list...
You can buy strips pre-loaded with CCI primers. However I like Federal so I load my strips. The loading tool is similar to a primer tray with an added lever.
Slide in an empty strip
Dump primers on tray
shake a few times (the primers orientate and line up with the strip)
Press lever
done
Each strip holds 25 primers. The strips link together and auto advance in the APS tool. Very easy to use.
One other thing that I have done that Really made life easy. I added a Hornady Lock-N-Load Press and Die Conversion. Each die I own has a bushing on it. Once set they are locked in. Now setup is 3 seconds per die change.
OH! So there’s a tool to load the strips! NICE! I might look into this. We need another priming tool.
LOL
I am more of a “long gun” sort of a person. When it comes to a sidearm, I much like a .45 Long Colt wheel gun! If I have to shoot it, I know that my target will go down bleeding & screeming, and that was the point I was trying to make. I guess that I did not make my point very well.
