Hi! We’re back from the poll. Nice afternoon; I got my neck sunburned! Will wear a hat and suncreen tomorrow! The Democrats were very polite and thought having eight children was impressive.
Elen locked the keys in the van. The, while the firefighters were breaking into the van (we were at the fire station), Elen tripped Pat and he hit his head on a rock and had a real, bleeding injury! The firefighters cleaned him up and gave him a bandage; it was just a small cut on his forehead.
Pat was a hit with the voters. I’m about to
post without finishing my sentence. I guess it’s the sun!
Pat gets an ice-cream snack for his hard work and fortitude.

I think I need more water before I consider alcohol. And I have to go to a festival committee meeting tonight, post-mortem on the festival. I’ll have a positive report, at least.

Since I got 14 hours sleep last night, today was another day to ponder what still needs to be done.

Evening, all. Got the supper made and eaten and then went to the festival committee. Put gas in the truck. The festival made about $5,000 after expenses.
I have a question?
Do babies grow over three inches in a month and five days or did the hospital probably blow the original measurement of 20”?
The shortest measurement from the heels of the feet to the crown of the head was over 23” yesterday.
I do see the baby went from 8 pounds 8 ounces to about three pounds heavier, but I get the feeling they must have made a wrong original measurement.
It can be difficult to measure a baby’s height (length) accurately, so there’s a certain margin of error in the measurements. It wouldn’t surprise me if the measurement at birth were up to an inch too short; they’re very balled up! However, they also grow longer very quickly in the early months. Iirc, an average of 1” per pound of weight gain is not out of the question.
Are you sure it’s the same baby? It could have been switched on you.
Does it make a lot of noise and other messes? Does it seem determined to prevent you from getting a proper night’s sleep?

LOL! I’ve sometimes wished the real parents would come back and get some of mine! You should have seen Pat at the poll today. He would flisk up to a voter, fix his huge crazy eyes on the target, and hand him a Blackwood campaign mint. “You want to vote for Mr. Blackwood for State Representative! AND here’s the tickee about the judges!”

I told NicknamedSue that the trash and recyclables are already down by the road. Doing it after it gets dark is more work, and I'm lazy.
Well, the baby seems nearly 3-4 pounds heavier than 5 weeks ago, so it cold be he gained 3”s based on that thinking.
No way, this kids been eating at my wife's chest about every forty minutes since we left the hospital. There has been no time for the switch and surely there would have been a one armed culprit around from the damage caused by such a person from having tried to remove the child from a feeding.
Nope, couldn't have happened.

Don’t switch him from right to left too often. He’ll get more calories if he stays on one side as long as he wants to.
