“It is a completely different kind of “glass ceiling” that Jesse broke through . . .”
Yup. The moron ceiling.
Did I hear on Meet the Press this a.m. that there is an October Surprise coming for Palin?
Can’t stand Ventura for the most part, but I understand what you mean. The solidification of the blogosphere, even beyond where it was in ‘04, is further marginalizing “The Establishment” and their abilities to call the shots as they have in the past. This is a very good thing. It will help strike a fine balance between elitists running things and a mobocracy.
Brilliant, but rther vague remark. Who's your choice for Moron of the Month -- Jesse, Sarah, BamBam, Joe Joe?
> Yup. The moron ceiling.
Isn’t Jesse Ventura a retired US Navy SEAL? If so, one thing that he ain’t is a moron. They don’t let morons become US Navy SEALS.
Over the past few years the “Establishment” has succesfully lead Americans to forget what we really beleive and stand for. Sarah Palens arrival on the scene has awakened a slumbering giant. All the apathetic mothers out there, all of a sudden have someone to remind them what the possibilites are.
His Kennedy associations didn't hurt either.
Sarah is a damn good start.
I think you can count on the DNC myrmidons to try some such. They don't have any issues, they don't have a cadidate with a brain, and they hate their country. You can bet your bippy they make something up to laugh over.
I am pretty sure Ross Perot beat Ventura to that punch, and in national, not state politics, but I take your point.
“I am pretty sure Ross Perot beat Ventura to that punch, and in national, not state politics, but I take your point.”
Ross Perot didn’t win. Ross Perot was a Billionaire. Like I said, I am no fan of Jesse “The Body” Ventura as a politician, but Ross Perot is no Jesse Ventura. Let’s be real.
"From September 11, 1969 to September 10, 1975 he served in the United States Navy as a Navy UDT and was on active duty January 5, 1970 through December 10, 1973 during the Vietnam era. Ventura served with Underwater Demolition Team 12 during his time on active duty.
According to the United States Naval Special Warfare Command policy, Ventura is entitled to use the title "SEAL", due to both his service in the UDT and SEAL teams, and his successful graduation from UDT-R (now BUD/S) training[citation needed]. He was awarded the National Defense Ribbon and the Vietnam Service Ribbon but was not in combat to qualify for the Combat Action Ribbon. In his autobiography, Ventura described SEAL training as the toughest experience of his life. "It's worse than anything you can imagine," he wrote, "You have to want it bad, very bad." Ventura always mentioned how much he respected his SEAL instructor Master Chief Petty Officer Terry "Mother" Moy. He asked Moy to stand by his side when he was sworn in as governor. He ended his inaugural address with the SEAL war cry "HOOYAH!" The Official United States Navy SEAL website contains his bio, and he is considered one of the SEAL's famous Alumni."
I am impressed.
Elitists always want elitists and will attack with vengeance any candidate who is not one.
No combat ribbon. That means he was a REMF. All else is BS. Another Steven Segal.
They handed medals out in Nam like candy.
And Obama.
Thanks for your service to our country.
october surprise coming for Palin?
geeze if the 527’s get their crap together and start blaring the Obama ‘knowns’ on the tv, the annointed one will not have a chance in hell. They better watch what they say cause its going to come back to them big time.
They handed medals out in Nam like candy.
Do I detect a small ration of jealousy in amongst those sour grapes? Somehow I don't think that all swiftboaters don't share your contempt for all Seals who didn't receive assugnment to combat.
By the way, do you sneer at all swift boat trained men who did not get into combat for one reason or another -- or just Seals -- whom you obviously envy?
PS: Congratulations for serving honorably as a Swifty. They sound like quite a bunch to be proud of.
