The advertised “HD Ready” antennae sold at most electronics stores are a rip-off. Antenna technology has not changed in generations.
Just get the biggest outdoor antenna you want or are allowed to install [go to a hardware store], mine is about the size of an adult, and point that towards the towers. The hardest part is installing the wiring from the antenna to your home [use top quality R6 wire—buy it from a hardware store, much cheaper]. It will work like a charm.
We had perfect digital reception, 35 miles outside of town, during Hurricane Ike, up until we lost power. [We have power back now.]
