About six years ago, the Palins began attending their current church home, Wasilla Bible Church, an independent evangelical congregation of truck drivers, executives and teachers, pastor Larry Kroon said.

It’s a “simple community church,” Kroon said, that is not Pentecostal. Still, Palin has remained close to the Pentecostal community.

Thanks again. Just read the article. I'm not missing anything - the rat's see she honors God and prays for His Will. That is the last thing they want, God's Will for this nation.

Your not missing anything really. There is nothing here. And even if there was, her church couldn’t be anywhere near as bad as Obama’s former church.

Here is a transcript and video link to the sermon being criticized. It says nothing of the sort.

Brickner's Sermon at Wasilla

I hope this link shows up....

This seems to be the real link to the Aug. 17 sermon (from the church's website):

When Isaac was in Jerusalem he was there to witness some of that judgment, some of that conflict, when a Palestinian from East Jerusalem took a bulldozer and went plowing through a score of cars, killing numbers of people. Judgment—you can’t miss it.

The purposes of the media digging this up, of course, are:

1) to attempt to make US Jews vote for Obama

2) to attempt to convince other voters that Palin attended a church with a wacko minister for several years, and to get the media playing that quote over and over.

Does that exerpt from the sermon sound like something that could offend (non-christian) Jews? Well maybe, especially when quoted out of context. I think it would be less offensive to most Americans than Wright's anti-American rants.

It's possible that Brickner accidentally used the word "judgment" when he intended to say "conflict." See the quote above. In any case, I don't think that Palin believes that terrorist attacks against Israel are instruments of God's will, and she has said she does not believe that.

Dear Presently - that’s a cute screen name. :O) - I read that Gov. Palin and her family started going to the non-denominational church together six years ago. I understand that she and her family of origin had a varied early religious life, having started out as Catholic, then attending Assembly of God when she was growing up, now for the past six years, with husband and children - non-denominational.

Thank you, Twinkie. Now that’s a better name!! Yes - I read that from one of the links. I just wasn’t sure what the problem was - her background in that area is similar to mine - and many other I know. She is growing in The Lord and God has raised her up for such a time as this.

Thanks again!

terrorist attacks against Israel are instruments of God's will

Good post. Terrorists coming against Israel are of satan! Israel is the apple of God's eye. God says - I will bless those who bless you and curse those who curse you. That is one reason why USA has been blessed for so many years because we align ourselves with Israel. And that's why we are attacked by her enemies. Her enemies are our enemies. It is all spiritual warfare and this sinful world are blinded to the things of God. Evil exists and that is why terror exists. Palin loves Israel and, as Christians know, He protects Israel through our prayers and through us.

We can't expect the godless to understand.
