I agree, and put it more simply. In Palin, the Democrats see their chances of taking back the White House in 2008, 2012, and 2016 going right down the dumper. Maybe 2020 and 2024, assuming that President Palin's Veep, Bobby Jindal, does a good job as Veep.

Losing ALL the marbles, ALL at once, can be rather disconcerting.
