Shania is fake. Sarah is real. Shania has fake boobs, too. I bet Sarah doesn’t.

I see your point. I guess we are all different. I felt like I loved Ronald Reagan. Maybe it is just a deep admiration that I feel.

I know I'll be loathed for saying this, but what exactly is the difference between THEIR celeb-worship and OUR celeb-worship?

It's starting to get to me too. I'm all for being supportive, and I sure hope they kick Obama's butt, but I can only stand so much gush.

Sarah literally sparkled during her convention speech.

"You're missing my point--all those qualities you've mentioned are why we SUPPORT her candidacy and LIKE her positions. I'm not talking about that. I'm talking about the celebrity stuff."

My excitement stems from one simple fact. Finally I think we have a chance to keep that Marxist out of the White House because of Sarah, and for that, I am thankful and very excited like I haven't been before. And seeing her rip the pants off Obama in her speech is just icing on the cake. Just knowing that Obama and Binden truly are in for a challenge is exciting.

Sarah brings a "freshness" to politics that I haven't seen before. She is "one of us" and that brings a whole new dimension to this race. I won't "worship" any man or woman regardless of what stature they are in. I won't worship the pope. Nor do I "love" her. But I will admire Sarah Palin for who she is, a natural, and people are attracted to that.

I'm talking about the celebrity stuff.

Sarah has energized the conservative base, but the media has relegated her to celebrity status by covering her every move.

I can't help but wonder if the media saw how their adulation of Obama backfired, so they're trying the same tactic again, hoping for the same results?

Thanks for asking a good question.

It’s the difference between worshiping truth and worshiping falsehood. The difference between the Sarah Phenomenon and Obamamania is that Palin has substance. If you can understand this, you see the difference is total.

Obama is a hit because he looks and sounds good, nothing more.

Sarah Palin has fought corruption against the odds and won. She values principle, and she believes the words coming out of her mouth. She lives her values. Palin represents truth and right.

Obama represents empty promises and lies.

In other words, we revere Sarah’s style because the underlying substance has absolute value.

Obama fanatics worship his superficial qualities in spite of (and mostly because they are unaware of) the fecal matter which lies inside the package.

To: Darkwolf377; All

I love Dick Cheney and I’ve never met the man. I adore him. I respect him. I’d love to go fishing with him. ;)

Just let us have some fun, Eh? She’s bound to do something we disagree with in the near future; her feet of clay will show up soon enough. But for now, just let us have this little romance. Quit raining on our parade.

She’s the ONLY Conservative we’ve actually had on our side for a l-o-n-g time. You know in your heart that we’re sane people. We’re just energized and excited for a change! The ‘Rats have spent 40 years tearing this country down and now it looks like we may have someone that just might turn things around for us.

We see her as a means to an end; a conduit, not the next coming of Christ.

I understand where you're coming from. You and I would both like this to be an election about issues, rather than personalities, but the fact remains--most elections are decided by people who figure out to vote for the weekend before the election. Since they care so very little about substance, having style is important.

If you can figure out how we can boost the national attention span to longer than a Sesame Street skit, we'd all like to know how to do that! For now, we are in our glories over a person who knows how to connect with a significant segment of the American public that has, until now, been quite dispirited in this election.

I suppose Alan Greenspan might call it "irrational exuberance", but as long as the peak doesn't come for the next 60 days, we'll be alright.

I'm with you on that Diana.
We're all human and sometimes fall short.
Hopefully the inspiration that she and her family are bringing to us
will lead to actions beneficial to conservativism.

I thought the same thing...

Sarah represents American values

Obama represents nebulous global values

That’s simplistic, I know
