The really sad thing about that is that the testing is not 100% accurate. (I would oppose it anyway. My daughter said she did not want the testing, because she would have the baby regardless. Her doctor said it just helped them be prepared.) 3 of my grandchildren tested as Downs - none are. They are even in the top 10% of their classes.

Wow - that is really scary. (Not the top 10% part!!)

One of the talking heads was saying how Gov. Palin had all of the standard tests done including the Down’s test. The doctor said they would run more tests to help confirm it, but she said something to the effect that “Why bother? We’re still going to have our baby.” Although I can perhaps see folks wanting to know in order to prepare themselves mentally - although any baby is sure to bring about unexpected challenges.
