Kay Bailey Hutchison cautious in praising Sarah Palin

ST. PAUL, Minn. – Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison contrasted the full-throated defense of Sarah Palin by some in her party and lowered the bar Wednesday by offering her own statesman-like, cautious praise for the vice presidential nominee.

Asked if Ms. Palin is ready to be vice president, Ms. Hutchison said that "she offers a lot to the ticket. We'll see in the coming weeks how she does, where she goes. And I think she's going to do fine."

A meaningless sense of the Senate vote.

If that's the way you want to play someone declaring that Roe v. Wade is good law that should not be overturned, OK.

National Right to Life counts her a friend on 93.6% of her votes, going back years.

If you want to discount 44 pro life votes against 2 stem cell and a sense of the Senate, then you are cutting of your own nose. I'll go with NRL over you EVERY time.

She doesn’t want to be VP. KBH wants to be gov of TX.

Please God, don't let that ever happen!

I know KB is a RINO but I am sure the Dallas Morning News is trying to find any division within the Republican Party. The Dallas Morning News wouldn’t try to miquote her or “spin” the story would they?????

I've been following the DMN opinion blogs, and the libs are getting ready to implode. IMO, the two most biased editorial board members have been Michael Landauer and Tod Robberson. Had they raised similar issues about the experience of the Democrat Presidential nominee, John Wiley "devil's food cake is racist" Price would have gone ballistic.

KBH is losing votes daily and won’t get mine next time around. She’s costing Texas taxpayers $$$ after opening up law suits over the border.

I just heard Kay Bailey being interviewed and I must say her response to questions about Sarah Palin was much less than enthusiastic! I dare say her tepid response and timidity is evidence to explain why she didn’t get the nod!
She is a back-bencher lukewarm supporter of all things conservative, but not a true leader! She would have trouble becomming governor, if it weren’t for one thing..... Rick Perry!
By the way, the list of those contemplating running for her senate seat is less than impressive! So far, State Senator Florence Shapiro of Plano may be the best bet.

REMEMBER THIS, TEXANS:

Feds Have Built Only 32 Miles of 700 Mile Double-Border Fence Originally Mandated by Congress

“One reason DHS has been able to do this is an amendment that Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison (R.-Texas) slipped into an omnibus appropriations bill that Congress passed on December 18, 2007. Hutchison’s amendment put a loophole in the fence law that allowed the secretary of Homeland Security not to build the fence Congress had mandated the year before.”
