Good Morning. I am about ready to hit the shower and head South. I have a meeting today I need to attend, so there was no sleeping in for me.
A week ago today, when Senator McCain announced his choice of Governor Palin to be his running mate, the EARTH MOVED for me. (at age 62, I’d almost forgotten that sensation)
I thought Mac’s speech last night was solid and heartfelt. (and I never thought I’d see the day when I’d leap to my feet and cheer for him, but I did it, and I”m willing to admit it)
I have not had time to read the thread this week, so I’ll just offer good wishes and/or prayers for those in need.
If something earth shattering happened here at ATRW in the past week, will someone please let me know about it.

Thanks for the thread and pings Molly. It’s raining here in west KS, always appreciated for sure. Some of the dryland corn we’ve seen already looks like it was too hot and dry though....yields will probably be impacted some. The milo looks good so far.

Good morning! I especially enjoyed the line in JM’s speech where he said he would “make famous by name” those who try to slip earmarks into the bills. And would veto them. I truly believe him, and am waiting with bated breath.
I kept looking for you with Iowa group, but couldn’t find you. I know you were there. Sen John S McCain did a fine acceptance speech. He had the crowd on their feet at the end. He reminded me of an old time preacher getting the congregation exciting to do the Lord’s bidding.
I got such a kick out of the audience during Governor Palin’s speech. She is terrific in both delivery and content.
Being way over the hill myself, I was so very amused by the older ladies that the cameras would plan during the cheering, boos (not for the Governor), laughter. Those ladies looked like they were going to have a heart attack just out of sheer pleasure. Of couse, I was helping with the cheering, booing and laughing.
By the way, Rush said that someone in the know told him that MSNBC had given the passes to the Code Pinkos that were in the audience last night. I was stunned at how close that one fool got to Senator McCain. Where was the Secret Service - or are they all detailed to BO.
