Being a child at home alone in the summer is a high-risk occupation.
If you call your mother at work thirteen times an hour, she can hurt you.
~Erma Bombeck
People take pictures of the Summer,
Just in case someone thought they had missed it, And to proved that it really existed
~Ray Davies
Winter is an etching, spring a watercolor, summer an oil painting
and autumn a mosaic of them all.
~Stanley Horowitz
A life without love is like a year without summer.
~Swedish Proverb
Summer afternoon, summer afternoon;
to me those have always been the two most beautiful words in the English language
~Henry James
He was in love with life as an ant on a summer blade of grass

Good morning, FRiends.
I'm running kinda slow this morning, so please bear with me.
Too much on my plate this morning. :)

Mornin' Amy. Busily getting ready for the picnic. I'll be working on the name badges today and getting all the picnic "stuff" together and shopping for the ingredients for the tri-tip marinade and the fruit salad.
Will be having lunch with my MIL in the middle of everything else today. I will get back here when I can. TTYL

*Good Afternoon To Amy's Place
Slow Down and Notice Your Life
by wayzatajohnn
Like quicksilver the lake waters glitter
and the sun dances to a celestial song
As martins swoop and dive and flitter
as summer so swift speeds always along
Sweet scent of flowers, smell of pine
flavor the day with hints of memories
The breeze tumbles butterflies, a sign
and my mood changes as ordinary flees
Laughter by the lake sets the mood apace
lovers, old folks and children understand
Life is for living outside the race
Oh blessed, this sun soaked lovely land

I had been wanting to post wayzatajohnn’s poem and it fits the mood of the beautiful graphic and words in your opening. Thank you.

Love the quotes, but did Henry James miscount? I got 4, not 2. Fuzzy math, I’d bet.

I had planned to make this post a couple of days ago, but got busy on something else. Sorry.
There has been some talk about the size of graphics and bandwidth. We have a few FReepers who do not come to the site because they are on dialup and the large graphic freezes their computers. Hopefully the Internet providers will get broadband to all areas soon. Prior to broadband coming to my area, I was using a satellite connection and was put on probation every time I went over their bandwidth limits. ( Just a little history)
There have been images that I refrained from posting due to their size in bytes. Following are two websites that are available for reducing your images online.
They are ......
This site works with jpeg, gif and png images up to 300,000.
I have not used this site ....
This site reduces jpegs
Below are two images .... The first is from a post on the August Thread. Thank you Sundog for these beautiful pictures.
This image used 250904 bytes.
After I used the 1st website, the same image took 93,772 bytes.
These sites give you several images from which to choose. I hope everyone will bookmark these sites and use them whenever you need to reduce pixel size.
To see the difference in pixel size, right click on the images and then look at the image properties.
I want to thank everyone for the wonderful posts, graphics, links, etc.
