I haven't seen this much pre-hurricane coverage since August 1998 with Hurricane Earl. That just happened to coincide with the DNA results from Monica's blue dress. Earl ended up being a tropical storm.
We got nothin’ else to watch. Football season hasn’t started yet (at least the pros) and the networks put off the new season because of the convention—which isn’t going to happen.
Its going to be wall to wall coverage of the best prepared for hurricane in history.
Does anyone think that Nagin and Bush are going to let THAT happen again. The freakin’ buses were lined up and ready to go before there was a cloud in the sky.
All this is going to show is how we learn from our lessons.

I noticied on the news that there are still some people left. Me thinks they are waiting for chaos to ensue so they can “touch things for once.” (Again) Hope the retailers hid their stuff this time.
Actually, this storm could be worse for NOLA than Katrina. Katrina made landfall east of NOLA and NOLA actually received a very mild storm. It was the levees breaking that caused all the damage. This time the hurricane is probably making landfall west of NOLA and the side of the hurricane that is bringing winds from the ocean is always the worst. Even if the levees hold, their could still be significant flooding from the storm surge.
