The earlier, now politically incorrect, term was Mongoloidism, implying that the child looked like a member of the Mongoloid race. Which to a "white" person they kind of do.

Inuit are members of the Mongoloid race, so the comparison isn't all that far-fetched.

It's IMMENSELY RACIST to imply that, and not surprising coming from the ultra-liberals. A hundred years ago people used to call Down Syndrome babies "Mongoloid" because they looked vaguely East Asian. Inuits obviously are closely related to Northeast Asians. I hope the Asian Americans make hay over this and shoot those bastards down. Most Asian Americans are conservative anyway.
