our idol
No kidding. What a putz.
I was a little surprised that Corrine didn’t manipulate it so that Ace got totally blindsided and voted out. It seems now that he has total advantage and total control.
Think I picked Paloma to go far based on her profile. Was disappointed she wasn’t more of a player/factor. Even still, I don’t see why she was targeted so early. Putting her on the post was stupid...unless you wanted to lose.
The Kotas should have gotten rid of Ace that episode. Yes, he's a strong physical factor in challenges, but the Fangs don't have many physical threats to worry about. Dan and Matty are strong, and Crystal's as strong as any of the guys, but Susie's weak, Randy's older and not in good shape, Ken's skinny, and GC's small. If the Kotas keep pushing back Ace's dismissal, they may find they've lost the opportunity to get him out. They may go on an immunity run and be forced to resort to throwing a challenge just to get rid of him. Or there may be a tribe switch and Ace might be safely spirited away to the Fang tribe.
I was surprised to see that Corrine actually took Paloma's comments seriously. I thought the alliance of four had already agreed to vote Paloma out at that point. Maybe Corrine wanted to get rid of Ace but the rest of her alliance insisted on voting Paloma.
Ace was also dumb for thinking it was okay for the Kota tribe to not give their all in the reward challenge. It’s not just about blankets and hammocks. It’s also about morale and momentum. Even if the Kotas prepared themselves beforehand not to be too disappointed by losing the reward challenge, the win for Fang was a huge morale boost for them, and it gave them momentum heading into the immunity challenge. If Fang had lost the reward, they would have lost the first four challenges in a row. Their morale would have been at rock bottom. And it might have made a difference in the immunity challenge.
