I think what people are going to notice here is that this lady has experience.

Good Lord in Heaven, Palin's run a household with 4 kids (now 5) and a family commercial fishery business with her husband. She's run a city, and the largest state in the Union, more than twice as big as Texas. And her main claims to fame are blowing the whistle on corruption in her own party, vigorously supporting oil and natural gas exploration and production, and stopping the proposed pork-stuffed $398 million Ketchikan Bridge to Nowhere.

She's got tons more real-world executive experience than Obama, and she's the one who's running for the trainee position. Obama's at the top of HIS ticket, and what did he ever run?

.

.

.

. Besides his mouth?

(BTW, I am a woman :) Hear me roar!

I didn't say I was a feminist, I said I am a woman -- hence I don't roar. Roaring is the province of feminists. Apparently you are one of those people who think the words feminist and women are interchangeable terms. Not so.

I thought it was incredibly stupid. Basically, the round table agreed that Palin was more qualified, but Kondracke and Juan put forth that running for president for two years such a “good campaign” showed Obama’s qualifications!

So running a campaign makes you presidential? I thought that was side stuff, not the main show. Maybe Carville, Beckel or Estrich should run next?

I can certainly accept this criticism.

He also thinks Obama is presidential material because he's been running for the job for three years.

This statement is just mind numbingly stupid, the intellectual equivalent of a steaming pile of feces.

Mrs. Kondracke died just about 4 years ago this week after a long time suffering Parkinsons. He wrote a book about it.

I was surprised to learn that he had remarried.

MOR-TON....

WRONG!!!

That is truly appalling. I know that Mort has been drinking the Beltway Bongwater, but this is insane. Running for President is not the same thing as being President.

10 things about Sarah:

1. Sarah Louise Palin (nee Heath) was born Feb., 1964, in Sandpoint, Idaho. Her family moved to Alaska when Sarah was an infant. Her father, Chuck, is a retired schoolteacher.

2. She attended Wasilla High School where she played point guard on the state champion basketball team. Her nickname was “Sarah Barracuda.”

3. Palin graduated in 1987 from the University of Idaho with a degree in journalism. She worked briefly as a sports reporter in Anchorage.

4. She refers to her husband, Todd, as the “First Dude.” He’s worked as a commercial fisherman and as a production operator on the North Slope for BP. He enjoys snowmobiling and has won the Tesoro Iron Dog, billed as the world’s longest snowmobile race, four times.

5. Palin and her husband have five children, Bristol, Piper, Track, Willow, and Trig. Trig, born in 2008, has been diagnosed with Down syndrome. Her son Track joined the army in 2007.

6. Her favorite meal is moose stew.

7. She comes from a family of outdoor enthusiasts. Her parents, Chuck and Sally Heath, enjoy hunting and fishing, and have both completed marathons.

8. Palin was named Miss Wasilla in 1984 and was a runner-up for Miss Alaska. In 1996 she was elected mayor of Wasilla.

9. She’s a lifetime NRA member and enjoys hunting, fishing, and snowmobiling.

10. Elected in 2006, she’s Alaska’s first female governor and the youngest governor elected in the state.

That about sums it up.

I've wanted to be an astronaught ever since Neil Armstrong took a stroll on the moon. Today I'm 57 years old and twenty pounds toward the fat side. Still, since I have wanted it for SO long, I guess I'm qualified. Right, Mort?

"Just because he made an incredibly dumb and incomprehensble statement is no reason to bring his wife into this discussion."

I didn't bring his wife into anything. If anything it refers to his mother, as in; "Hey VR-21 did your mother have any kids that lived?" Jeez, I guess people don't say it anymore, but it was once very common.

I'll concede that Mr. Obama has more relevant experience for 'campaigning'. That seems to be all he's done the past 15+ years - campaigning for the next rung on the ladder.

No actual on-the-job experience or accomplishments, just 'campaigning' and self-promotion.

So I concede, indeed Mr. Obama is good at 'campaigning' (well, relative to his other skills).

I want a President (or Vice-President) who has some leadership experience, and who has stood firm for tough decisions, and who has a properly tuned moral compass. I certainly don't want someone who has shirked their job duties just to start pimping themselves for the next promotion ('serving' 100 days as US Senator from Illinois, before campaigning for President, was deceitful to the citizens of Illinois).
I'll leave off comments regarding moral compasses ... for now.

I agree with Mort. Just because this chick’s got all the right positions on the issues does not automatically make her a leader. I still maintain Romney was the best choice.

His wife had MS, I believe, for many years. He wrote a book about her and it was made into a TV movie. Very sad for both of them. I don’t think a whole lot of folks realize it.

the current Mrs. Kondracke was on Fox earlier in the year. Memory is she wrote a book they promoted ... intellectual type book. My memory just fails me too much lately. I’m glad he remarried ... it was a long time suffering with his first wife. Nonetheless, his remarks tonight were as dumb as it gets !

Mort is pissed off because McCain actually chose someone who is prolife, and Mort despises prolifers.

Craig Crawford on MSOlbermann just said that Alaska was so far away,
it almost wasn’t in America.
I love the smell of Democrats and the media liquefying.

BTW-Just saw a clip of a sweaty Barry somewhere warm and he was so discombobulated,
I thought there was a power shortage and his mic was off.
Dead air for a long, long time while he searched for a thought,
other than “ I am so screwed.”
