No link yet but Drudge says McCain has made the decision...
Barf!
Those voting for obama are not voting for a COC. They are voting for an afirmitive action, abortion loving, welfare tolerant and blackskinned man. They have no idea what we are facing in the very near future.75% of this country doesn’t have a clue where Georgia or the Black Sea is. They are more worried about the local Burger King being closed down or being able to have sex in public and some want it with kids. They want cheap gas but don’t understand you have to drill for it. We have congresswomen elected that think there is a flag on Mars, and she was elected. Now don’t get me started or riled up or I realy will let loose:>)
Condi could be a M Thatcher. What's up with JC Watts?
I certainly hope he doesn’t pick a woman as a running mate. Especially Kay Baily Hutchinson. It will totally backfire. Any woman - with the exception of maybe a small percentage of independents - who would vote for Hillary is certainly not going to want to see a Republican woman elected as vp. They will never want the credit for the first woman vp, with the very real possibility of her assuming the presidency, go to the Republicans.
I didn’t know much about Pawlenty, but as a Roman Catholic and one in good standing, he seems to be an attractive young candidate to contrast with McCain. Your point is well taken.
“I’d love to see McCain announce VP Choice... Tomorrow ... DURING Nobama’s Speech... would LOVE TO SEE CNN and Fox pull away to cover such “BREAKING NEWS”
Nah, he doesn’t have to announce, just let the “activity” be seen going on at the VP’s house, like with Biden. That way HE’s not spoiling Barak’s night, but the media is.
” How in the hell can anyone think that Palin is qualified to be COC is beyond me. Yall need to start thinking with your other head for a change. “
Change ? That is what a lot of folks want in Washington . That , and “ politics as usual “ . The selection of Ms. Palin will not only satisfy those folks , but also bring into the tent many defectors from the Clinton camp . Add to that conservatives like myself , who would get out and vote for a McCain / Palin ticket . To borrow a slogan from the Reagan years , THE TIME IS NOW !
I think its almost certain to be a woman, and if so, I think its going to be Kay Bailey Hutchison. For the most part, I think she’d be a good, safe pick. She may not be the ideal VP candidate, but in a year when the GOP field for both president and VP has been rather weak, she’s as good as any of the alternatives in my eyes.
Seriously, I hope for Palin, but I could stomach Romney. Not Ridge, maybe Kay Bailey and the field needs to stay in the field and graze.
Karl Rove has engineered Hurricane Gustav to hit Louisiana just in time to prove Jindal will make a great vp.
Reading your reaction made me think of someone I haven’t heard mentioned. He wouldn’t pick Lindsey Graham...would he?
“Check the homes...”
or better year, the floor plan for next week’s RNC convention to see what states are down by the podium !
This WAS a light-hearted discussion - why try and scare us? I am concerned about Lieberman.
Seriously, if McCain is announcing it on Friday, I really believe he would have made his choice by now.
Who was the guy who said Mitt was out...I’m so sad, please say it isn’t so.
Amen...the ‘time is now!’ The media ‘buzz’ Palin would bring would make the Obama bin Biden post convention ‘bounce’ a resounding thud.
Palin would take all the 'supposed' novelty out of the Obama campaign......... ;)
Well Condi would certainly have a better command of foreign policy than perhaps even McCain but I really don’t know where she stands on domestic - social issues. I think McCain needs someone fairly well rounded and articulate. Someone who can spar with the dems over the next 2 months and not back down. Pawlenty is my governor and he’s become less impressive over the last few years.
I have no idea what’s up with Watts. I thinks he’s got Obama fever....
Palin would be great ... but she is burdened now by Ted Stevens .. he’s an incumbent R senator in her state, he apparently just won his primary, so will be on the ballot ... she’s better off waiting an election cycle or two.
