I have been told that the NHC fudges their forecast to influence evacuation orders and such and the Navy just tells its people where it thinks the damn storm is headed...

Very true. The Navy track is from 2 am (0600Z), and an eyeball comparison to the NHC track from then is identitcal.

I know NC needs the rain, but not that much.

I’m just amazed that a tropical storm can live that long and dump that much rain, mind boggling.

NC has been very dry, and the red clay gets brick hard. The dry clay provides for nasty runoff, and wicked gooey mud.

I’m in agreement with you there. Fay just refuses to go away!

Truly amazing storm. I will never forget how it actually ‘intensified” after making a SW Fla. landing, almost unheard of!

That was freaky. Of course, a female named storm would do something so fickle.

"Wow, I sure don’t like where that thing is on Monday."

I'm in Mobile and I like it even less than you.

On a positive note, I got all the limbs from Fay picked up and the grass cut.

I pray it doesn’t strengthen...maybe it will change tracks.....my son moved to New Orleans 3 weeks ago and I’m pretty freaked out by all of this.

Stay safe.

Tell him to take I-10 north to at least Baton Rouge.
