FREEP THIS PETITION ***PING!*** FRmail me if you want to be added or removed from the Fearless Poll-Freeping Freepers Ping list. And be sure to ping me to any polls that need Freepin', if I miss them. (looks like a medium volume list) (gordongekko909, founder of the pinglist, stays on the list until his ghost signs up for the list)

I have come to believe that President Bush doesn’t give a fig what we want or think, much less does he care about these two men and their families. There is something very political and smelly about this mess.

I seriously doubt that Bush would put proper justice over his Mexican friends. The perpetual condition of our border and the illegals sucking this country dry, is evidence to that. He won’t sign it.

I'm Shocked...

This useless petition asks for your address so they can add it on their pimp mailing list, sell your address to other pimpers, and of course, REQUESTS AN IMMEDIATE DONATION.

All a legitimate petition needs is your name and a zip code. When are conservatives going to wise up to these scams.

Let’s review the misinformation in this $$ request...

“In the matter of the unjust imprisonment of U.S. Border Agents Jose Compean and Ignacio Ramos Whereas, U.S. Border Agents Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean, while doing their duty to defend our borders, engaged a Mexican drug dealer who they thought was armed as he tried to flee back into Mexico;”

It’s not the “duty” of the Border Patrol to engage in a cover up, fail to report a shooting, destroy evidence OR shoot to kill unarmed, fleeing SUSPECTS. They did not “engage a Mexican drug dealer”, they did not find out he was an illegal or that the van contained drugs until after they shot him.

As for him being armed, this was the central part of their defense and was rejected by the jury or they could not have convicted them. The ruling, the trial and the judges decisions were upheld by a court of appeal manned by three Reagan appointed justices. Some minor charges were thrown out on a technicality...they ruled the obstruction of justice related charges were not valid since a Border patrol investigation is not “an official proceeding”.

“Whereas, in self-defense they fired gunshots at the drug dealer;”

The jury rejected the agents story and ruled they were in fact NOT in any danger of any kind at the time during the shoot. They didn’t shoot at a drug dealer, they shot at a FLEEING SUSPECT...a major legal difference and one that seems to elude the capabilities of some supporters who prefer to dazzle you with spin and misinformation rather than facts.

“and Whereas, they and all other agents and officials present that day thought the shots, while justified, missed their mark;”

Ihave no idea what they mean by this statement. There was only one other agent who witnessed any of the shooting and the perp wasn’t in his sight at the time. “Missed their mark”? What does this mean? Both agents testified they were aiming at center mass (Compean missing 14 times at a much closer distance than Ramos...are we certain he was trying to hit him or just make him “dance” some because he got away?)

Shooting to maim or make a suspect “dance” is a fireable offence in any LEO organization.

“and Whereas, responding to what appears to be political pressure from the Mexican Government...”

A favorite mantra of the R&C “supporters” designed to raise your hackles and massage your conspiracy tendancies because, you know, they think you’ll be too lazy to actually check the facts.

“...your Justice Department enticed a known drug dealer, Osvaldo Aldrete-Davila, to testify against Compean and Ramos under a grant of immunity;”

And it would have been so much easier to ignore the incident and let Border patrol agents, at their own whim and discretion, to continue wildy shooting at fleeing SUSPECTS and help turn the border into a complete Dodge City from just a partial one.

“and Whereas, Compean and Ramos are now unjustly imprisoned for long terms in federal penitentiaries because of the testimony of this drug dealer;”

Jury members stated they placed no weight on the testimony of the perp but convicted R&C on the attempt to cover up, failure to report, destruction of evidence and their own unbeliveable, convoluted and simply incredible testimony and story.

“Therefore, I urge you to correct this travesty of justice by immediately issuing a FULL PARDON for Agents Compean and Ramos, and ordering a thorough investigation into the actions of federal prosecutors in this case.”

And don’t forget to give us your name and address and donate heavily and often because this “petition” is eventually going into the trash can but you’re personal information lives forever in our pimp/mail database!

Supporters of this petition should ask Tancredo, Buchanon, Hunter, et al, one question;

Instead of creating useless petitions, building mail lists and raising $$, why aren't trying to correct the law that you claim "unfairly" imprisoned R&C, specifically 924-C, that continues to put ALL LEO's at risk of being imprisoned for 10 years for using their weapon during the normal course of their duties? Getting R&C pardoned won't change that law one bit, only legislative action to correct and define that law will protect ALL LEO's in the future.

(But then again, changing the law doesn't do anything for PR or raising $$...it kills the golden goose)
