FR Gun Club - Gun Porn - Movie Guns
movies TV | August 22, 2008 | Shooter 2.5

Posted on 08/22/2008 5:10:44 AM PDT by Shooter 2.5

As promised, movie guns and I might as well add television firearms. From Quigley, Down Under to Romeo and Juliet[!]. Who had the most recognizable firearm in the media? Who bought a gun just because it was in a movie? Which gun outshined the stars?

Your right. I was going for the “movie” version.

I see now where you noted both GL AND Shotgun.

Sorry.

Does anyone know the name of the full auto shotgun that has a sort of AR look to it? I think it held a 50 round drum, but darned if I know what...wait...Atchison(sp?) comes to mind.

Has that been in any movies?

The magazine is really in the back? That’s weird for a .50cal sniper rifle.

Some of the more exotic Bond stuff:

The Gyrojet from "You Only Live Twice".

Walther Wa2000 from "Living Daylights". A weapon I still lust after.

Found IT.

It WAS called an Atchisson assault shotgun, and now has been made to look less like the AR and more like...well..I guess sorta like an H&K.

BTW, if you like shotguns, you NEED to check out that page in the link. They have Jackhammers, Strikers, CAWS.

(Sorry, I need to wipe the drool from the keyboard...I wonder what that says about my fixation with guns)

No, it’s normal AR style with the mag up front of the pistol grip. What you’re seeing is part of the buttstock behind the grip and an empty magazine well in front.

That's not an M107 - that's Barrett's M95 bullpup. 29 inch barrel, 5-shot, bolt action. Not used by our forces. Danes and a few other buy 'em. This is the M107:

10 shot semi-auto. I want one. I can't afford one...

Gary Oldman in "The Fifth Element". Dunno which is cooler -- the multifunction rifle or his asymmetrical haircut...

Regarding the Jackhammer, they put that unholy creation in SOCOM 2, only for the terrorist team. Why they did that, I don’t know considering they only made a handful of prototypes.

I remember watching “Combat” on Tuesdays. “McHale’s Navy” was just before that. I was lucky to have fired two Thompsons in my lifetime. The first one looked like that. The second was the M-1 with no Cutt’s compansator with the bolt handle on the side.

Joe Kidd.

I do remember the great scene in “The Wind and the Lion” with the German officer putting his Broomhandle away and drawing his sword.
