Still alive and folding :)
It must be about 3 1/2 years now. The first million came so fast, lol. I haven't checked on any systems in over a year now, but they're still folding away!

I find that the 6.2x is generating about 20% more points on an Intel dual core. E2140 I think, so its not one of the new barn burners.
To get multiple 6.2x cores running you must chose Advanced options at the end of the main install. Even if you accept the defaults, there will be a choice to name the machine ID after about 8 choices.
One item from default that I always chose is the “Allow advanced work units” and I select Yes.
I have only installed 6.2x on systems that I can touch often. When you have a F@H beta that expires every two months, it will need attention.

http://folding.extremeoverclocking.com/user_list.php?s=&a=2&t=36120 Hey, one of your systems is registered as astyanax, not astyanaxFR.
Better catch it before it completes any more work units.
If it is a GUI version, it is easy to change.
If it is a console version, just stop the kernel in the Services windows, and run the F@H core with the -configonly CLI.

Texas:
Tech4Less.com has a (Refurbished) Lenovo 3000 J115 - Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 2 GHz - RAM 1 GB - HD 250 GB - DVD±RW (+R DL) - Memory card reader - LAN EN - Fast EN - Gig EN - Modem - Vista Home Premium (search model # 7387-A11 on their site)
It was 230.00, then I asked for a Folding@home discount and after explaining what F@H is, he gave me an additional $20.00 off. :)

I just bought one, they have 17 left. 1 year manufacturer’s warranty.
Further to that, I bought another nVidia 8600GT for $44.95 at Fry’s (after rebate).
My little Dell 530 (e2160 1gb) with the other (now overclocked)8600 is workin’ very nicely, thanks for the recommendation and assistance.

Yea, thanks. I caught it earlier, but not before it had uploaded once.
At least it went to the right team...

Wow, the points really drop when a hurricane crosses your path.
Any adventures to talk about?
Any headway with the Energy Czar?

I’m not uploading from any machines,
or receiving any new work packets.
Anyone have info (or know where to check)?
Stanford’s servers, I assume?

I had a system this morning that retried many times before it made a download.
Let me check on the forums to see if it is a general outage or if they are just picking on you ...

For almost 6 hours there was nothing.
New install finally managed to download.
Others still won’t upload however.

The “Life with PlayStation” integration with the Folding@Home client has just been released on the PlayStation 3.
The next time you stop and start your PS3 Folding@Home client, you will be prompted to update.
Life with PlayStation has a globe, but this one shows real color (Like Google Earth). It also has limited zoom like F@H. There are limited cities highlighted across the globe and each shows the local weather by its name as an icon for sunny, rainy, or cloudy along with the current temperature. The bottom left of the screen shows a list of headlines from news (From each city, sort of...) powered by Google.
It's pretty cool, overall. You can still get back to the view you are used to by switching to the “Folding Channel” which is done by using the “Square” button on your controller, along with the directional controls.
I did notice that the install did NOT lose my work units in progress, but it DID turn the music back on. I find that the music costs a bit of performance, so I usually leave that off unless I want to actively listen to it.
My son just got a couple of his PS3 owning friends to start running this new client on our team, so our little EasySt group may start climbing up the Free Republic Folders charts a little bit more aggressively... ;-)

Don't look now, but F@H is closing in on
4 TeraFLOPS of sustained production in the search for a cure for Alzheimer's Disease and Parkinson's Disease.
Amazing!

Active CPUS are defined as those which have returned WUs within 50 days. Active GPUs are defined as those which have returned WUs within 10 days (due to the shorter deadlines on GPU WUs). Active PS3's are defined as those which have returned WUs within 15 days. |
*TFLOPS is the actual teraflops from the software cores, not the peak values from CPU/GPU/PS3 specs. Please see our main FAQ, PS3 FAQ, NVIDIA GPU FAQ, or ATI GPU FAQ for more details on specific platforms. |

Actually, that's 3900 TeraFLOPS... I think that equates to almost Four PetaFlops, making F@H possibly the fastest supercomputer on the planet!

You are very correct - F@H has nearly reached 4 PetaFLOPS, and may pass it before the weekend is over. This is a sustained speed not a "peak" or "theoretical" speed.
Simply amazing. Thanks to all the FReepers that have donated their sustems to the advancement of research!

I'd like to point out
another Folding Stats website, www.hardfolding.com.
It's different and useful, and is a good additional source for monitoring our Team and User stats.

Read a couple of early threads - they are fascinating with excitement of competing with the (UN)Democratic Underground team. Not much competition left anymore. ;^)
