2008 Olympics begin August 8th through to August 24. Live streaming on CBC begins with the opening ceremonies early am. NBC in prime time in evening.

Opening ceremonies starting....seems to be about a 20 second delay on the web streaming compared to the tv here.
Could those of you who are watching do us who are boycotting a favor? Turn it off during the commercials. I don’t want China to be rewarded for their deplorable behavior.
I almost never watch the commercials anyway. No problem here.
Besides...the commercials I am seeing are Canadian. I couldn’t buy that stuff anyway.

Current US Eastern Time 8:08am

just starting live...NBC will show them tonight with about a 12 hour tape delay...can you try the link above and tell me if its working in the US or not? I think its 8 pm local time right now so if that is true its 12 hours ahead of Eastern time in the US

Despite the commie crapola, the show so far is pretty neat. These dancer/artists are amazing.
China wasn’t always Communist. They have a LOT of truly cool history. This show should be amazing.
the real update I want to know about is to see if ANY of the athletes dare wear smog masks walking into the stadium...
please tell when the parade begins!!
The atlethes are NOT supposed to breathe.
Also, they must apologize profusely and repeatedly for wearing those black masks on Tuesday.

They had some when they raised the Chinese flag, but that’s to be expected. Every nation has it’s armed forcces raise it’s own flag at the Opening Ceremonies. We did too.
If there are soldiers in the show otherwise, they are not in uniform.
