Sounds good. The politics are good.
But ... it just doesn't LOOK good.
Would it be possible for them to campaign together on the same ticket, but never appear in before the public or camera on the same stage?
Perhaps it is possible in this day and age?
They could split talk shows and talk radio. Just, never appear together on the same stage (unless they have John standing on a milk cart which is hidden from the camera.

“”The veep frenzy is getting crazier by the minute. One Sleuth informant this morning was certain he had cracked the mystery of who will become John McCain’s running mate. The evidence was a big, glossy poster with Mitt Romney’s face on it and the message “MITT FOR VEEP/McCain-Romney ‘08” being carried under the arm of one Ron Kaufman, the hotshot Washington lobbyist who served as a senior adviser to Romney’s presidential campaign.
Signs of a ‘Romney for Veep’ Movement? Our informant says he saw Kaufman walking to his car carrying “a couple of McCain-Romney ‘08 placards.” Maybe he was on his way to McCain headquarters with the signs.
Actually, it was just one sign. “I stole it, to be honest,” Kaufman tells the Sleuth.
The lobbyist was out jogging this morning and saw the “Mitt for Veep” sign posted on a lamppost at the corner of 6th Street SE and Pennsylvania Avenue.
“I was shocked,” says Kaufman, who actually cost Romney some grief on the campaign trail after the former Massachusetts governor declared, “I don’t have lobbyists running my campaign.”
Kaufman liked the sign so much that he took it. “I said to myself, ‘No one will believe I didn’t make this.’ But I’m innocent, for once,” he told us by phone.
In small lettering along the side, the McCain-Romney sign touts the Web site MittforVeep.com, where — for a mere two bucks — you, too, can own a “Mitt for Veep” sign.
While Romney is actively campaigning today for the man who could choose him as a running mate, he continues to be coy about his prospects on the GOP ticket.
But you can imagine where Kaufman comes down on the issue.
“He’d be a great pick,” Kaufman says, adding that McCain either needs to pick “a solid Republican who energizes the base” or someone who “reinforces McCain’s brand as an independent Republican.” And Romney, he says, “is a solid Republican who would energize the base.”
Stay tuned to see whether Mitt will have that opportunity.””
Yippie skippy.
If I recall, HW was significantly taller than Reagan. Ditto Johnson and Kennedy, obviously.
Economic “conservatives” interested in a little fascism and corporate welfare like this guy, I guess.
Williard is just too weird, too liberal. McCain needs to throw conservatives a bone, and ‘I'm to the left of Kennedy Romney isn't it.’
I was in Sioux City, Iowa recently and suprised as they still have Romney signs up. Not just at some peoples houses but some of those big placard ones. I was there on cacucus night early this year as well. The conservative counties went for Romney the liberal ones went to Huck, McCain came in third. Seems like the conservatives there are still hopeful for VP.
It’s only chance McNuts has to win.
I really don’t know why anyone cares. McCain could pick Bill Clinton, and it wouldn’t matter. LOL
NO MORE LIBERALS. What part of that do you Slick Willard disciples fail to grasp ?
Indeed...
The merger would be complete, and Mitt would be the deal maker...
The new DRNC, half bloated elephant, half jackass...
Just a little longer...
Sit back and enjoy the show...
More schilling for the “savior” I see. It’s become as bad as the Obama Messiah complex.
Messiah (clown) to the left of me...
Savior (joker) to the right...
Here I am, stuck in the middle with you
Stuck in the middle with you
Well you started out with nothing,
And you’re proud that you’re a self made man,
And your friends, they all come crawlin,
Slap you on the back and say,
Please.... Please.....
