Conditions should be favorable for development and already pretty close into the U.S.
They realy downplayed Alicia, like this storm, it stalled and slowed down, it grew and caught many by surprise.
I remember. I was there. She snuck up on us.
They said Houston, so not much else.
Alicia ripped part of the roof off my high school. It rained inside the whole following year.
I just caught the 10:00 news and the thunderstorm we had this evening was not related to Eduardo. We are now under a hurricane watch because they don’t really know how this storm is going to progress at this time. Temps tomorrow are expected to be 96 and humid until some time tomorrow evening.
She lifted the roof up on my mobile home and flooded the inside.
We felt that pain too. I didn’t think the power would ever come back on! After Alicia we had to buy a chainsaw just to get into the back yard. We had a heck of a hurricane party the night before though!
Grilled steaks sound wonderful! And I certainly believe that about your grill! Speaking of steaks, Alton Brown showed how to do steaks the other night. He started them off in a smoking hot cast iron skillet to sear them, and finished them in a 500 degree oven for a few minutes on each side. Not as good as grilling I'm sure..
I will know where to borrow some gas! LOL
The problem with Alicia was the searing heat after the storm. No electric for week, Oh my I will never forget.
We went and stayed with relatives for as long as we could stand it afterwards. That hurricane will be permanently imbedded in my memories.
Cool link for South Texas Radar... thanks!
Woo that’s hot, too, though. Glad to hear it wasn’t a furnace, but best wishes for tomorrow. Y’all take care over there!
Staying with relatives during a storm is enough to drive anyone bonkers. I am batten down the hatches tomorrow.
It might be marginally related to the storm environment, but probably not so much to the storm itself.
So far it’s behaving rather well, going to need to see better organization before any rapid intensification is possible.
Hopefully it will only get upwards of minimal hurricane and provide some needed rain.
rain just seems to be zipping right by Killeen every time this year, guess we got our quota for 2 yrs last summer? LOL
the wind really is blowing though. alas, it’s hot wind.
Consensus is that a new COC is trying to form S of the old?
That might move the track further South, down to CC?
