“This Is It!”
The Lord Himself will descend from heaven . . . . Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up. —1 Thessalonians 4:16-17

Have you ever had a time when you thought the Lord was coming back right then? Many believers in Jesus are so eager to “meet the Lord in the air,” as Scripture puts it (1 Thessalonians 4:17), that they have felt “This is it!” at one time or another.

My wife, Sue, who once worked in a Christian nursing home, recalls being aboard an elevator at the facility when she had “second coming” thoughts. She had closed the door and started up to the second floor when the elevator came to a halt. Sue was stuck between floors. As she waited, there was a jolt and a quick flash of light—and then nothing again.

Sue recalled later that the power of the light and movement startled her and made her think that something unusual was happening. In that moment, her mind went toward the much-anticipated return of Jesus. It was a “This is it!” moment.

Whether we have experienced this feeling is not important. What is absolutely vital is that we know we are ready at any time for the Lord’s return. If we have received Jesus as our Savior, we will find ourselves anticipating with excitement His appearing—eager to “stir up love and good works” in one another as we “see the Day approaching” (Heb. 10:24-25).

A little while—then Christ will come;
The glorious hour draws nigh
When He will come to take His bride
To dwell with Him on high. —Gilmore

Christ’s second coming is as certain as His first.

Wish I had a yard man—or a pool boy... LOL

OTOH, I’ve been known to “read” Dr. Seuss with my book in the middle of the open children’s book. I can also “read” Dr. Seuss/others with my eyes shut. Sigh. The kids didn’t think much of either.

I knew you’d love it, Billie!

I seriously have a man coming today and I keep watching the clock. Thought he’d be here by 8:00 but he will come! (I hope as I would be disappointed in him.)

He is a real cute young man, he’s family. My son talked to him as he is my son’s wife’s brother. He is at all our get togethers. He is very nice. He was laid off at Bristol Compressers, where my son is a supervisor. And when they called Tony back he didn’t want to go back. So he organized him a little yard service and stays busy all the time.

I have a lot of weeding and trimming for him to do. I am lucky that my two sons take turns mowing for me to save me money. I thank my lucky stars.

Never lose an opportunity of seeing anything that is beautiful,
for beauty is God's handwriting -- a wayside sacrament.
Welcome it in every fair face, in every fair sky, in every flower,
and thank God for it as a cup of blessing.

Oesy, I hate doing windows and try not to do them anymore than necessary. Do they have self cleaning ones yet?

It reminds me of a funny friend of mine! She was at work and several gals had gathered in one of those little cubicles and were discussing the new self-cleaning ovens. (Thats been quite a while back). Someone asked my friend “Do you have one of those self cleaning ovens?” and she came right back with “Well, I guess so, because I never clean it!”

Think I posted on the wrong question....by the way, the yardman is here!
