Oh, Amy, I just Found Out a Few Minutes Ago about McCain’s Choice for VP, and I’m Ecstatic; she is Excellent! McCain Came Through for his Base, and I haven’t Watched the Talking Heads as of Yet, but the Libs are Probably Miffed at his Fantastic Pick.
Um,er make that our...’cause I don’t support out ones...Stoooooopid typos! That’s all I’m sayin’ ‘bout that...ie.Don’t get me started,LOL!
Man,when I typo, I REALLY typo!
It took me 35 minutes to get my RED post done. I will try after while to see if the site is working better.

Happy, Happy Holiday, dutchess..Send us a picture of Giz all outfitted!
VP Palin will be a great addition Amy’s Place threads for the next four years.
Now I’ll only have to hold 1/2 my nose when I pull the lever for McCain. :)
Thanks for the California Gold Rush Days images, OESY. The one of Phelps is so cute. Thank you.
I will try to get the holidays posted a little later. FR is so slow that it is difficult to do very much online today.

Cute, OESY. It looks like the Wear Red for the Troops on FRidays is being celebrated on land and in the sea. LOL
Good afternoon everyone. Thank you for all the great pings. I’ve been very busy doing “stuff” and getting my hair trimmed up and curled. Now I’m set for another couple of months. ;)
I’m sorry it took so long to post your recipes, Yorkie, but here they are. ;) Enjoy!
EASY SUGAR COOKIES
1 C powdered sugar 1 C sugar
1 C butter 1 C veggie oil
2 eggs/beaten 1 tsp vanilla
4 1/2 C flour 1 tsp soda
1 tsp cream of tartar
Cream sugars, butter and oil together until fluffy. Beat in eggs and vanilla.
Sift flour, salt, soda and cream of tartar together. Add dry ingreds. to creamed mixture, blending well.
Shape dough into small balls; place on ungreased cookie sheet. (Depending on the softness of the dough, I sometimes put it in the fridge for awhile before this step.
Flatten balls with sugar coated flat-bottomed glass. ( I wet the bottom of the glass with a small amount of water for the first pass, then dip it into a small bowl of sugar)
Bake in pre-heated 375 degree oven for 10 mins or just till edges start to brown.
I have dark cookie sheets, so I use a 350 degree oven instead.

GRAPE-NUT CUSTARD
4 eggs 4 C milk
3/4 C grapenuts 3/4 C sugar
cereal
1/2 tsp vanilla
Beat eggs until thick and lemony; (important) beat in milk, cereal nuggets, sugar and vanilla.
Pour into a buttered baking dish.
I usually sprinkle the top with a bit of Cinnamon.
(My mother made this, but not this recipe, and she gave me a hint....About ten mins into cooking, stir to disturb nuts on the bottom, so they don’t settle too much.)
Bake at 325 degree oven until knife inserted in center comes out clean.
Serve warm or cold with whipped cream.
(Also...I usually make a bigger batch, and use 6 eggs, 6 C milk...etc. Only the best restaurants on the east coast serve Grape-nut custard. So it seems many people in the rest of the country don’t know what it is.)
I am so happy about “Sarah”. What a woman!
I do hope they fix FR soooooon!
