Using my Marriot rewards number, I can reserve a two bedroom suite for $269.00 per night. The 2 bedroom suites have a sofa bed plus 2 bathrooms and a kitchen. We don’t usually use the kitchen but we did on this vacation to Idaho. We used it for warming leftovers or heating soup.

For four of us, this is not a bad rate. We have always found the rooms neat, clean and very spacious.

And, I’ll bet you will have a coffee pot (and cups) in your room, and also a hair dryer! And they won’t ‘forget’ to make up your room and give you clean towels, either. LOL

Yep .... all of that plus high speed internet. They furnish cups, plates, eating utensils, a toaster, stove with an oven and a full size refrigerator. I can’t think of anything they have forgotten.

We have always had good luck with the Residence Inns. If you ever need someplace with two rooms, check them out first.

Howdy Amy. Welcome back home. Hope your vacation was as enjoyable as ours. We managed to put 2200 miles on the Rendezvous and B Hussein’s suggestion to check the air in the tires didn’t pay-off like he said it would. I guess he’s just another lying politician.

We had a thunder-lightning display follow us up through Oregon (Highway 97) and a great “light show” our first Saturday night up in Spokane. Shot a bunch of lightning strike videos. way cool! Gonna see if I can figure out how to capture a frame or two from the videos.

It’s gonna take forever to read through all my pings and catch up on work projects on the homestead. I need a vacation from our vacation.

Again, Welcome Home!

We had a great time but I am exhausted.

I don’t remember the hwy #’s but it is a long drive of nothing from Bend to WallaWalla. We enjoyed WallaWalla but we scratched it off of our choice of places to move. It seemed too far from anything.

After visiting my brother in Boise, we came home thru Burns, Alturas and Burney. We stopped at Turtle Bay in Sacramento. It was a great place for a lunch break. They were having a Memorial for the Firemen who lost their lives in the plane crash a week or so ago. Firetrucks everywhere. One with a large flag on the ladder. I hope the pictures turned out pretty good. I haven’t taken the time to download them yet.

Welcome home yourself. Glad to hear your vacations was great. Looking forward to your photos.

Oooops .... Turtle Bay and The Sundial Bridge are in Redding, not Sacramento.

My brain is still on vacation. :)

I know someone special
Who had a special day.

This someone is very special
In every special way.

Special people deserve
To be treated specially.

So this is a very special wish
For a birthday that's special, from me!

One Small Choice
Choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve . . . . But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. —Joshua 24:15

As a boy, my father often played violin in the local symphony. This budding young talent continued improving into his high school years.

Then one day he decided to join his buddies in a harmless prank. As they raced through the school hallways and out the door, my dad hurried to follow them. The door slammed just as he reached it. His left hand smashed the glass of the door—severing the tendons to three fingers. All the doctors could do was tie the tendons in knots, rendering his fingers useless and taking the violin out of his life forever.

I wonder how Dad’s life might have been different had he not made that one small choice. “What-ifs” have dubious merit—we can always second-guess ourselves. But we cannot underestimate the impact of our choices. One choice can produce lifelong consequences, for good or bad.

Joshua’s counsel is a good place to start. “Choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve,” he told Israel. “But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord” (Josh. 24:15).

Serving God will not always be the easy choice. But it is a choice that brings the kind of consequence we can live with.

I am resolved to follow the Savior,
Faithful and true each day;
Heed what He sayeth, do what He willeth—
He is the living way. —Hartsough

What you will be tomorrow depends on the choices you make today.

I have never seen blue flowers like that. I’ve had it a long time and the only thing I remember it was titled “Blue Flowers”. Frankly, I don’t think there are any blue flowers like that for real~~LOL~~especially with the green centers. Oh, well, no sleep lost!

Graphic by Billie

That I could see her one more time
Her gray curls thin and texture fine,
Such beauty in her barely wrinkled face
Such peril in her deep brown eyes.

Her busy feet her old Singer treddled
While nimble fingers guided brightest print,
Day on top of day passing
Whirring, humming, each well spent.

I warmed in front of the old gas stove,
Ornate grates, backed with asbestos
Admiring and staring, staring, admiring
Her delicate fingers, deceptively untiring.

The day she was gone from her housewife’s labors,
One little house shoe lay empty behind,
How I wish I could see her, hear her sewing
Just one more time.
