Mama Bear gave us some choices today so in reference to her Financial Awareness Day, I found a few cute cartoons! Just haven't had the time to post them! So for a little Thursday laugh, here goes!

OMG! I love that and printed it off to make a pillow or wall hanging or something the first time I saw it several years ago. And no, I have not done that yet, but I would like to one day.

She took the long way...Penney’s, Sears, Macy’s, her money and credit card probably ran out~~LOL~~

To be serious on the subject though, if I have some “one thing” that I am shopping for, I like to go by myself right to the place I think I will find it....try on and on and on...buy it if something pleases me very much and go home.

When my granddaughter was getting married Dec. 1, I needed a dressy dress, not formal, but I was bound to find one that I could wear more than to the wedding. I will admit I made 3 trips to the Mall and finally found the right dress. I had looked at it before but just couldn’t decide! I’m glad I don’t have to do that much!

I’m not your typical female. I absolutely hate to shop. I will run down to the Goodwill once in awhile and find a suitable new dress and pay $3 for it. I haven’t bought a “new” dress in years. Hate the current fashions. Am I turning into an old curmugeon?

I don’t like to shop when I have to find a certain thing. I like to meander around places looking and thats when I might find something I like! And sometimes I don’t like anything!

I can’t imagine getting a dress for $3.00. Of course, at Goodwill you could. I take all my old stuff to Goodwill. I have one not far from me and they are always glad to get it. I need to do some of that now.

I don’t buy a lot of dresses. Its mostly dress slacks, blazers, etc. I wear those to church. Do you all wear pants to church too. I like skirts also and they will go with the blazers too.

Good to hear from you, Nan! I know you all must have had a ball when Lori and her husband visited. I thought that was so wonderful!

Sorry, y'all, I opened up the doors this morning then had to leave. What a day! My MIL's doctor appointment took over 2 1/2 hours, the checker at the grocery store didn't have clue how to ring up anything. It must have been his first day on the job....and then the day just went downhill from there. LOL.

But, except for dinner, I am through for the day. Thank you, everyone, for your contributions to the thread. Amy is going to fire me for being such a lousy hostess. :-(

Well, I don't know about her, but we sure had a ball! I didn't break anything this time, thank goodness! LOL.

Seriously, Nan is a great tour guide and has such a lovely home, oh....and she also is married to a fabulous cook. Mr. WVNan fixed up some wonderful WV treats for us. And Nan made the best Banana Split pie!! I've got to get that recipe. We ate really good while we were there. :-)

LOL!! Great finds, jaycee. Thanks for directing me to them. I probably wouldn’t have seen them otherwise.

A lot of the women in my church wear slacks to church. On Wed. night I wear jeans myself. On Sunday I wear a dress. Some of them I bought years ago and they were very expensive, so I still wear them. Mostly though, I find some nice dresses at the Goodwill store from time to time. That way I can take them back and look for different ones. I know my labels and I find some “treasures” at times. That makes shopping at Goodwill fun. Sort of like looking for gold. Ever so often you will find a nugget. LOL.

Ahh Yorkie, what a wonderful poem. Thank you for thinking to ping me and thank you for printing it out so I can enjoy it.

Very true that we often share things here that even our best friends don't know.

I have saved it!

It’s about time you got home. We missed you. I’ve done not much today. Cooked some green beans and made a Banana Split Pie. Ha. Mr. WV fixed the rest of supper.

That's a good collection of cartoons... and I like your description of a typical dress-for-a-wedding shopping day.

Did the pictures make it to your e-mail? I sent the ones I made while you were here.

Christian One Liners

Don’t let your worries get the
best of you; remember, Moses started
out as a basket case.

*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*

Some people are kind, polite, and sweet-spirited
until you try to sit in their pews.

*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*

Many folks want to serve God, but only as advisors.

*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*

It is easier to preach ten sermons than it is to live one.

*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*

The good Lord didn’t create anything
without a purpose, but mosquitoes come close.

*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*

When you get to your wit’s end, you’ll find God lives there.

*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*

People are funny; they want the
front of the bus, the middle of the road, and the back of the church.

*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*

Opportunity may knock once, but temptation
bangs on your front door forever.

*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*

Quit griping about your
church; if it was perfect, you couldn’t belong.

*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*

If the church wants a
better pastor, it only needs to pray for the one it has.

*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*

God Himself does not propose
to judge a man until he is dead. So why should you?

*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*

Some minds are like concrete
thoroughly mixed up and permanently set.

*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*

Peace starts with a smile.

*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*

I don’t know why some people
change churches; what difference does
it make which one you stay home from?!

*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*

A lot of church members who
are singing “Standing on the Promises” are just sitting on the premises.

*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*

We were called to be witnesses, not lawyers or judges.

*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*

Be ye fishers of men. You catch them - He’ll clean them.

*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*

Coincidence is when God chooses to remain anonymous.

*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*

Don’t put a question mark where God put a period.

*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*

Don’t wait for 6 strong men to take you to church.

*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*

Forbidden fruits create many jams.

*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*

God doesn’t call the qualified, He qualifies the called.

*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*

God grades on the cross, not the curve.

*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*

God loves everyone, but probably prefers
“fruits of the spirit” over “religious nuts!”

*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*

God promises a safe landing, not a calm passage.

*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*

He who angers you, controls you!

*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*

If God is your Co-pilot - swap seats!

*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*

Prayer:

Don’t give God instructions — just report for duty!

*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*

The task ahead of us is never as
great as the Power behind us.

*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*

The Will of God never takes you to
where the Grace of God will not protect you.

*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*

We don’t change the message, the message changes us.

*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*

You can tell how big a person
is by what it takes to..........discourage him.

The best mathematical equation I have ever seen:
1 cross + 3 nails= 4 given.

Oh, I forgot. Drain the pineapple. Just use enough to cover over the pudding. The amount of everything depends on the size of the crust. For a larger pie use large box of pudding mix, 2 bananas and enough drained crushed pineapple to cover. It’s so easy, you can play around with it.
