I once had a blind girlfriend who thought I was black. :-)
She is at work right now, but I'll hafta ask her later on. :)
In the meantime, here is a pic of the two of us at the
Texas State Fair October 12th, 2004:
Beautiful downtown Beijing ...
Take a look over at http://mine.icanhascheezburger.com/default.aspx?tiid=481113#step2 - doesn’t the dog in that pic belong to one of your crowd? (Shotgun pinging done because I can’t remember which of you owns the dog.)
Not just no, but Hell, no. I’m not even watching the games on TV.
There are no favorite shows that would be missed on NBC these days either. That said I enter a lot of promotional contests but I balked at one earlier this year where the grand prize was an Olympic trip to Beijing. I avoid those where the prize is of no use to me.
Nope. Haven’t given a damn about the Olympics since 1980.
Hi ADAARDIS,
Good to hear that you are volunteering for the Genocide Olympics 2008. The millions of “undesirables” that the ChiComs are exterminating in the name of “protecting their image” must be surely thanking foot soldiers, like you, for swallowing the party line - hook, line, and sinker. /sarc
Even if I could go to the Olympics, I would never think of such a thing. These Olympics are a shame considering the regime that’s hosting them and the fact that your masters, the ChiComs, are muzzling all dissent and protests goes against everything I believe in.
I hope all thinking and freedom-loving people will boycott these Olympics (even on TV) and your country as long as the current set of maniacs remain in power.
I would LOVE to visit mainland China someday (I have visited the Republic of China AKA Taiwan) but am not going to do so until the good people of China get rid of the bloodthirsty rulers who constitute your current regime.
Because you know as well as I do that 99% of the new sign-ups this year have been ChiCom plants trying to subvert public opinion. It's organized by the PRC government and well funded, with up to 280,000 operatives.
Read here to find out what they're up to:
A lot of mainland Chinese logged on to sites like this after the Sichuan earthquake to share their experiences related to the event.
There were some exceptions, but far too many FReepers welcomed them with spit and insults, much like we're seeing on this thread.
Knee-jerk rudeness is easy; giving a visitor the benefit of the doubt until we have good reason to believe otherwise is hard.
I agree with the rudeness, but why would someone from mainland China post on FreeRepublic? The chinese can’t even look at sites like this. This person is just a disruptor, probably a Chinese army operative. I doubt it’s a woman too.
Of course mainland Chinese can read FR. Every young person there with a broadband connection knows how to get around the government firewalls.
Your other points are wild, unsupportable speculation.
“Your other points are wild, unsupportable speculation.”
That’s right and I’m probably correct.
Folks who eat dogs are hardly deserving of much respect.
Sorry, we won’t be able to come to the Games since we are getting ready for winter again. I am sure the Games will be very good and records will be set. The Opening Ceremony should be awesome. We will be reading about the games, especially Track and Field events.
Why not?
ADAARDIS, I take back jmc813s apology and add my voice to the rest who think you’re just a ChiCom troll. China is a brutal murdering regime and doesn’t deserve the Olympics. I won’t watch a minute of it and will reject any products that use the Olympics to advertise.
Apparently.
... giving a visitor the benefit of the doubt until we have good reason to believe otherwise is hard.
But easier than giving long time FReepers the benefit of the doubt.
I’m wondering if anyone here will come to Beijing.

No thanks
Okay, I'll play along, but I need some help. Tell me: how can I more charitably interpret the caustic comments of the long-time FReepers on this thread?
