Yes, and it’s getting bigger. Whatever interaction it has with the Yucaatan overnight will stall further strengthening, but this looks like a potential serious threat to the south or central Texas coast. I wouldn’t even rule out the SE Texas coast at this point.

Even Rita was forecast as a Brownsville storm and it eventually came ashore at the Lousiana border.

It left a tree on my house but I was long gone...for a month!
