Newly formed Tropical Storm Dolly over the NW Caribbean Sea near 18.4N 84.2W. 1008 MB at 11AM this morning. Max sustained winds 40KT, gusts 50KT, moving NW at 15KT.
Dolly seems tracking straight for Houston here:

I think that part of the loop was when it went through the
Yucatan Straits late last night,,,(N to NNW)

LOL,,,Sounds like you had all the “fun”...;0)
At least I didn’t win the “12” lottery!
Did get to see a lot of old friends I hadn’t seen in a while. :)

It looks like it might lose its southeast tail in this loop, but it’s also tightening up which is a sign of intensification.
A recon plane is in the storm right now but already reporting lower pressure, so evidence of strengthening is pretty apparent.
Dolly is getting her act together. Now, will she slow? She could race to the Mexican border or start a more NW jaunt.
I filled up about two hours ago. I figured I should try to beat the rush.
Hey, Counter, are you picking up any breeze from Dolly yet?
She could go right into Mexico without any problem.
Now, will she play nice and do so is the $10,000 question. :)
I think Dolly is intensifying because she is slowing.
Ideally she’ll keep hauling butt for northern Mexico with not enough time for rapid intensification. That would be a late Wednesday afternoon/evening scenario.
A mid Thursday, or even later scenario probably makes her much stronger and further north.
Yowser—I don’t recall seeing that photo before.
My daughter’s near Monterrey on a mission trip this week. Do they get flash floods in that area?
LOL,,,A good thing...;0)
