forgive her Mr. President and commute her sentence....
there must be a zillion more people in our country alone worthy of going to jail and having a felony on her record....a zillion...
Oh, quiet? -- Are you going to give me a rational reason for suppressing my freedom of opinion? Or is this turning into a "turn the black girl loose" because "there's already too many black girls in prison" discussion? You must have been sneaking into the Kool-aid!
She is a perjurer - a liar - a fraud - and a thief - and a cheat in the most prestigious sports arena!.
She IS a self confessed Felon..
Lets not forget about the check fraud scheme....
Lets not forget she burned through MILLIONS that were honestly meant for those who did not cheat.
But, you're close about the "zillion" people worthy of jail and having a felony on her record -- and MANY of them are already in PRISON... That's exactly who lives there. And, she rightfully belongs there with them....
Before the sentencing, Jones broke down as she asked Judge Karas not to send her to prison. “I plead with you to alleviate the situation by not separating me from my boys, even for a short period of time,” she said.
But Karas noted that “athletes in society ... serve as role models to children around the world. When there is a widespread level of cheating, it sends all the wrong messages.”
“People live with their choices,” he added, “and the choice not to play by the rules has been compounded by the choice to break the law.”

Marion Jones’ Teammates Paying for Her Crime
Posted Apr 11, 08 9:42 AM CDT in Sports
(Newser) The consequences of Marion Jones doping offenses reached further yesterday when the International Olympic Committee laid down the law and stripped her former relay teammates of their medalsthis after Jones was stripped of hers late last year. The runners, with Jones, won gold in the 4x400-meter relay and bronze in the 400 relay at the 2000 Olympic Games.
“The decision was based on the fact that they were part of a team, that Marion Jones was disqualified from the Sydney Games due to her own admission that she was doping during those games,” said IOC spokeswoman Giselle Davies. The next IOC board meeting is this June in Athens, where the matter will likely be discussed further.

On the check fraud charge:
But the real break in the case against her came because of a check fraud ring. Marions ex-boyfriend, Tim Montgomery was the first of the two to be caught partaking in the check forgery scheme. They became involved in 2005, when a drug dealer told them they could make easy money by cashing some big checks for some of his associates. Montgomery made at least $20,000 from cashing these checks, which turned out to be from a ring of check counterfeiters.
Montgomery recruited others to help cash the checks, including his track coach Steve Riddick and his agent Charles Wells. Marion deposited a $25,000 check into her bank account. The check fraud scheme was quickly discovered by bank investigators.
But it looked at first like Marion might escape prosecution. When criminal charges were filed against Montgomery and several others, Marion Jones was not named. Her name was even excluded from court records, and she was just referred to as a close associate of Timothy Montgomery.
Montgomery pleaded guilty to criminal conspiracy, and could get up to three years in prison. Wells pleaded guilty to bank fraud. Riddick was convicted of conspiracy, bank fraud and money laundering in May. Marions time finally came, and the result was Fridays guilty plea.
Marions guilty plea could get her a maximum of 10 years in prison, 6 years on parole, and $500,000 in fines. However, the prosecutors have agreed to a sentencing agreement that would mean Jones would serve zero to six months in jail. The judge isnt required to abide by the agreement, though.

In my opinion - Jones got off too easy...
The skank got the minimum sentence.
It seems she was to arrogant to ever think about getting a job - or doing ANYTHING honest...
She apparently lied and cheated everyone.
Even her teammates will lose THEIR medals because Jones as a relay team member CHEATED.
