I really hope that this was supposed to be satire.

and I am being paid minimum wage--a fact I did not learn until the first paycheck came out.

Has anyone ever accepted a job where the pay wasn't known until he got his first paycheck? Or maybe he just didn't know that the pay he was offered was minimum wage.

I do believe he is a special kind of stupid.

Or, owing to his liberal entitlement mentality, he probably ASSumed that he’d be earning a “living wage,” which in his resin-coated brain probably means he expected to pull in about $20 an hour. With full benefits.

My dear departed Pop told me he took a job without any idea what it paid. His explanation: "I had nothing, so whatever he decided to pay me would be better than what I had."

One part time job I took, I was led to believe that the pay was 11 bucks an hour. When I got my first paycheck, it came to about 8.35 an hour, before taxes. Rather than quit, I stayed with the job, figuring it was better than nothing. And hoping that in time my pay would be raised to 11 bucks an hour. 4 and a half years later, I was let go (the business had moved out of state) and my pay was still nowhere near 11 bucks an hour at the very end of the job.
