I will cram the whole series of stories about Hughes and Co. into one thread. There are bonus shorties about a church financed by oil wells and a weird one about some push-cart peddlers at the end.
Mr. Whalen discussed the aviation exhibit planned for the Worlds Fair to show the extent to which the airplane is an instrument capable of promoting world peace by improving communication.
In the near-term I see a different role developing for the airplane.

14,710 miles in four days.If the circumference of the earth is 24,900 miles, they cut a lot off by flying so far in the north. I think they should do it again and this time make stops on both sides of the equator.
