Does the Old Model Blackhawk have no hammer-block safety?

Nope. It was an old-school single-action revolver, meaning carry it hammer down on an empty chamber. The "New Model" revolvers debuted in 1973 with a transfer-bar system.

The bullet grazed the man's groin before stopping in his coin pocket

If that man didn't drop to his knees and thank God Almighty for his good fortune, then he is a damned idiot.

What an idiot. In close quarters like that you need a 12 ga. with a pistol grip.

That, is brilliant.

I'm sure it will work for deer camps as well as trailer parks.

: )

STRING! That is one of the funniest movies I have ever watched. Laughed so much I was in tears.

LOL!

Dangerous is an understatement. If she’s big enough to carry a Blackhawk in a shoulder holster I doubt she needs the gun to protect herself.

Kill a mouse with a .44 caliber!

That’s what a cat’s for folks.

We’reseeing more and more of these in a feeble media scare attempt since the Supreme court revealed that (unlike the Libs) they can read plain English.

I found the original story on a non-Associated Press source, and replaced the AP title, replaced the AP content, replaced the link to the AP story then attributed the original writer. Please don't post any AP stories. Thanks. The first time I posted this story it was linked to FoxNews. I just missed the AP tag, my bad.

After that first story was deleted, I went looking for a copy of the same story that wasn't supplied by AP. Went through several pages of google returns before I thoyght I had found one. It was from the FresnoBee. I searched the page the story was posted on and found no reference to AP anywhere. I assumed that FresnoBee story was OK to post. That was the only reason I posted it.

I will try my best to avoid posting stories that are supplied by AP.

Thank you for your efforts in reposting the story.

“The bullet grazed the man’s groin before stopping in his coin pocket”

Was she really aiming for the mouse?

Here's her deer gun. It leaves the meat a bit over-cooked, though.

I've harvested many a mouse, chipmunk and squirrel (and even the occasional bunny rabbit) with my trusty Crossman 1377.

More than enough gun for a micro-safari.
