To assert that 'genuine conservatives' have not been the most loyal voting segment - for years, election after election - the GOP has is to deny reality.
If they are sliding away then its the damn party's obligation to find out why. Personally, I'm tired of being asked to take a bite of their s***t sandwich.
As for Medved's piece, is their anyone else who can make your case? I'd really rather not give him the hit.

Thanks. Not picking on your way of putting it at all but when you start detailing the history of the region the case for Atzlan just evaporates like a cup of water on a Phoenix sidewalk in July.

McCain spent the Fourth of July in Mexico? Oh, Im gonna be sick. Yes, he did.
See the press release from the Mexican President's press office to read all about it.
Oh, and if it's helpful at all, he was accompanied by McCain's political confidant and closest election adviser, Sen. Lindsey Graham (of "We're going to shut the bigots up!" fame).

Will we ever run out of reasons not to vote for McCain? They just keep rolling in.

Darn few European people lived in between, before the Mormons arrived in Utah. Southern Arizona has had a continuous Spanish presence since 1687. The city of Tucson was well established by the late 1700's.

BTW did you mention to Obama that Arizona was confederate territory during the civil war? Actually, it was divided. Tucson was a Confederate city, while Prescott and other more northerly parts were Union loyalists. The westernmost battle of the Civil War was fought at Picacho Peak in Southern Arizona.

John, John, John. What a squid you are.
Guess what John. Your Mexican buddies say they have claim to Texas too. Know what? Some of my Cherokee anscesters were in Texas long before Sam Houston or any Mexicans speaking Cherokee. They also read, spoke and wrote the QUEENS ENGLISH-— FLUENTLY! Maybe you could rub off some of that onto your new sanctioned invaders.

Real old fashioned patriot, isn't he.
As far as I'm concerned, you can put his hero period right up against his last 8 years, and it's a wash. Whatever points he got for hero have been wiped out by his positions on Globaloney Warming, LOST, CFR, Amnesty, and the rest of it.
Anyone advocating open borders/amnesty is a traitor, pure and simple.

All the hispandering in the world is not going to get mccain more than 20% to 30% of what is arguably a tiny part of the overall vote. Not only is he wasting his time he’s losing the electorate that is going to be needed to elect GOP representatives across the country, whether it be local, state, or national. In short he’s killing the party though I don’t expect anything will be done to stop the train wreck, most of the GOP leadership probably agrees with the out of touch, anti-American twerp.

Did you see the cover of the latest issue of the New Yorker Magazine? It's priceless.
It shows Mr. and Ms. Hussein as fist bumping terrorists!
