Southern Arizona has had a continuous Spanish presence since 1687. The city of Tucson was well established by the late 1700's.

Actually, it was divided. Tucson was a Confederate city, while Prescott and other more northerly parts were Union loyalists. The westernmost battle of the Civil War was fought at Picacho Peak in Southern Arizona.

All the hispandering in the world is not going to get mccain more than 20% to 30% of what is arguably a tiny part of the overall vote. Not only is he wasting his time he’s losing the electorate that is going to be needed to elect GOP representatives across the country, whether it be local, state, or national.
