The timing’s a little whacked, don’tcha think? If he wanted to get away with it, why not wait 3 more months when President Obama would come over and talk to him or President McCain would be blocked by Congress from doing anything? The only plausible reason he’d attack in November is if he actually wanted a response from the US and figured Bush would do it on the way out the door.

Because WE want an attack in that time period

That way, it isn’t Bush’s war, and the incoming president will have to deal with it in full force right from the start

anyone who cries UNCLE too early will either be in the trash heap of politics immediately or long forgotten, both quite likely in this country...
