Yeah, I know if I was disabled and waited the whole time for my husband to come back from being a POW - I would INSIST that he divorce me & marry a rich heiress!

I’ve heard/read that somewhere too.

She holds no hard feelings, and they are still close.

Whoa! You hit a few pot holes there FRiend.

I for one am glad to read what you just posted. If the others choose to not believe it, then that’s their problem.

There was a story posted here that said the same thing. She’s a big supporter of his and sings his praises. i was really astonished at her attitude because it was diametrically opposed to what I was led to believe was her position.

I went to college in the early 1980’s with McCain’s oldest son, a really great guy who is working as hard as he can to help his father get elected.

You forgot the part where Cindy McCain paid a whole lot of money to the ex.

This isn’t really a good thing for mccain no matter how it is painted.

Strange - back when they got the divorce she said it was because John turned 40 but still wanted to act 20. His replacement wife fit the new age requirement (and brought him a ton of money to finance his political career.)

I as well as most Freepers have heard the rumors about McCain’s divorce for yrs. It’s a private matter and since there was not a scandal I’ll leave it that way.

My ex wife sings my praises too.

Just last week she told friends what a pathetic loser piece of crap I was and hoped I would suffer terribly then rot in hell.

I was proud of the improvement we had made inour relationship

She sounds like a wonderful person. Maybe she should run for office.

I saw an interview where McCain’s ex said something similar, even though the reporter was trying to get her to bash McCain. Of course, the McCain haters will never pass up a chance to make snotty remarks.

Well, she sounds like a gracious person.

Honestly, I do think a little less of him for divorcing her but it is a difficult time for POW’s when they return from being held captive and if she isn’t angry with him for it, it certainly doesn’t seem like it ought to be one of my top concerns. I have many other things to be more worried about regarding McCain.

My, what a sweet little 3rd person unsourced proclamation.

If that’s the way were doing it now, I’ve got one. A friend, who worked with the people who took the first Mrs. McCain into their home after her accident when she had NO one to care for her, told quite a different story.

But I’ve never posted that story before because I don’t have permission to name some kind of source.

Not only that, but people forget that they stayed together for EIGHT YEARS after he returned, and she had her accident.

Both being a POW and being in a car accident can cause mental distress for years after wards. The divorce rate for either event is probably much higher than normal (like the lose of a child can be) and to have both happen within a marriage is beyond comprehension.

People need to back off the stories about the marriage and believe what each one of the couple (John and his ex wife) have to say.
