Yep. Just black and white. Only a few actors in each episode. No extravagant special effects.
Just very good writing and good stories. Always with a twist at the end.
“Tales from the Crypt” came close, but not as good as “Twilight Zone.”
What I especially like is seeing the actors who would later become big stars, like William Shatner and Robert Redford. I couldn’t believe that Robert Redford had those pock marks on his face even when he was young. It’s a wonder he made it in Hollywood at all. I don’t even think he’s that good of an actor. He tends to overact.
Also a great cast/character selection. Serling really knew how to pick the right people for the right roles.
