“Please, if you can, detail the particulars of McCain’s “scam” charity.”

See, that’s the thing about private charities — there is no public accountabilty, as they don’t accept outside dontations.

I just happen to be in a position to know how these type of private charities work. They’re a wonderful place to park assets and give the useless nephew (er, I mean wonderful in-law) a place to work.

Sooooo,sounds like they could be truly useful or they could be a scam. But there is no real way to know for sure.

Seems to me if one had a lot of assets, one would want to run one's own charity to be certain the causes one believed in would truly be helped.

Somehow I think if McCain's charitable trust were a scam, the LameStream Press would've detailed that by now. Or, maybe like the New York Slimes, they're sitting on info waiting to release it at the "proper time".
