See, that’s the thing about private charities — there is no public accountabilty, as they don’t accept outside dontations.

Sooooo,sounds like they could be truly useful or they could be a scam. But there is no real way to know for sure.

Seems to me if one had a lot of assets, one would want to run one's own charity to be certain the causes one believed in would truly be helped.

Somehow I think if McCain's charitable trust were a scam, the LameStream Press would've detailed that by now. Or, maybe like the New York Slimes, they're sitting on info waiting to release it at the "proper time".

I freely admit speculation.

But it is speculation from personal experience, and just running in that circle.

The “Heinz Foundation” is a perfect of example of this type of semi-scam -— as well as the “farm” Kerry had in a private charitable trust.

I’ve stayed on many a boat and flown on many a plane owned by a “charity.”
