He knows when you're happy
He knows when you're comfortable
He knows when you're confident
And he always knows when you have carrots.

I bless the hoss from hoof to head -
From head to hoof, and tale to mane! -
I bless the hoss, as I have said,
From head to hoof, and back again!
~James Whitcomb Riley
The horses paw and prance and neigh,
Fillies and colts like kittens play,
And dance and toss their rippled manes
Shining and soft as silken skeins;...
~Oliver Wendell Holmes
Somewhere in time's own space
There must be some sweet pastured place
Where creeks sing on and tall trees grow
Some paradise where horses go,
For by the love that guides my pen
I know great horses live again.
~Stanley Harrison
My horse's feet are as swift as rolling thunder
He carries me away from all my fears
And when the world threatens to fall asunder
His mane is there to wipe away my tears.

A YELLOW FLOWER
A yellow flowerbrave 'though a bit shy
wanted so badly to jump up and fly.
His wish was bigger than all other things
and one day he grew two small yellow wings.
He got colored spots that gave him power
a butterfly's born out of the flower.
A blue flower now wants to jump and fly
but somehow he can'the still wonders why.
His wish might not be as big as the sky
or he just cannot be a butterfly.
What the planet would look likea bird sings
if all the flowers got butterfly wings?

Good Morning to all!
Just coming in for a brief moment to say Hello. I am busy today as it looks as if granddaughter Shelby will be released from the hospital back to outpatient tomorrow. If this be the case, she will probably come here with my daughter for a overnight as it is closer to the hospital than all the way to La Verne. Pray for us!
Hugs and Loads of love...love the graphic beauty here as always.

For All The Cat~People Of Amy's Place
Adjustments
'Time Outs' are a sometime annoying part of a Kitten's indoctrination
To the overwhelming World all around and are given with reliable hesitation
By My Pretty One who must have had more than one earlier Feline boarder
For she is very wise to my ways of creating havoc and disorder
As I endeavor to playfully expand my skill and horizons while awake
Tempting fate at nearly every turn without taking a break
Fluidlly smooth, low hanging Table Cloths still get the best of me
Slipping and spilling down in a noisy racket before I have a chance to flee
A risky adventure for which there is no conceivable alibi
My Pretty One seems much to smart to even attempt asking "Why?"
She just sets me down to watch her make things nice and neat again
While I contemplate making her latest box for 'Shoes' my latest den
Since battling and shredding rustling paper, I never get enough of
Especially when it uncoils from way up high and wraps 'round like a glove
Making a wondrously soft pillow and blanket for a triumphant Nap
Well aware that when My Pretty One comes Home I cannot beat the rap
So, it's off to the 'Time Out Corner' for some solace and meditation
While I ponder how to best avoid the next embarrassing situation

Oh, don’t we know.....Billie loves horses! Pretty graphic, Billie. Is the dog sitting in the horse’s water bowl? LOL Cute. I enjoyed the horse quotes too, Amy. Thank you both.

You thought that horses wouldn't remind me of a boring story but............ surprise... surprise... surprise.
When I was about 12 or 13, I had to plow in the field with a mule. At the end of the day, when the time came to go to the barn and eat, the mule would pick up speed as I plowed the row going toward the barn. When I made him turn to plow another row, he would plod along until we, once again, turned back toward the barn then he would, once again, shift into high gear.
I plowed one year using a horse but I preferred the mule. A horse has to go too fast in order to pull the plow and it is easier for a kid to get a broken rib if the plow hits a root. A mule can pull the plow just walking along slow and easy. Except for the danger when hooking the trace chains to the single tree (mules will kick), mules are better for old men and kids.

Oh, Amy - I love how you added several small poems to go with the Welcome graphic. Aren’t those the sweetest pics of children and horses - and the little doggie in the horse bowl, too. :) (I thought of it as the feed bowl instead of the water bowl, Lori. But don’t guess it matters which one!)
