Thanks to both of you for your replies. When I received yours jaycee, I went back and looked at those pictures again and in the early morning here under the lights they did indeed look beautiful on my wide screen. I do have another one of Switzerland which I posted a long time ago - if I can find it I will post it here.

MEG, what gorgeous colors of iris. Sounds like summertime over your way. I understand "busy day"... I've had a few of those this week. It is good busy and then we can enjoy the holiday in honor of our Nation tomorrow.

Thank you, Dita..I am planning on celebrating the Fourth in A/C comfort..It is HOT out and about!
I may make an Apple cake(EASY)to celebrate..I haven’t baked anything in ages.
I have lots of strawberries and cool whip in any case.

From the California Lottery website:

PRESIDENTIAL BROWNIE SUNDAES

Servings: 2

Ingredients:

For Sundae:
6 small squares of chocolate brownies
1/4 cup warm bittersweet chocolate sauce
1 cup vanilla ice cream
2 tablespoons chopped, salted pecans
6 fresh bing cherries with stem attached

For Chocolate Brownies:
1 1/2 oz. semisweet baking chocolate
1 oz. unsweetened chocolate
3/4 cup butter
3 eggs
1 cup sugar
1/3 cup cake flour
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
1 cup finely chopped pecans

Instructions:

Sundae:
Arrange 3 brownie squares on each of two serving plates or shallow bowls. Top each square with a small scoop of ice cream. Drizzle chocolate sauce over ice cream and brownies. Sprinkle nuts over the top. Top each scoop of ice cream with a cherry and serve.

Chocolate Brownies:
Preheat oven to 350°F. Lightly butter and flour a 13 x 9-inch baking pan. Melt the chocolate and butter in the top of a double boiler then let cool. In a small bowl beat eggs and sugar until light in color and add to the chocolate mixture. In another bowl sift together the flour, salt and baking powder; add to the chocolate mixture along with the vanilla and nuts. Pour into the prepared pan and bake for 25 to 30 minutes. Cool and cut into squares. Makes 1 dozen brownies.

So glad you have A/C as I imagine your humidity is up there as well as the temp;^).

The last time I was without A/C was in California...and when a rare heat wave hit I was miserable..
Right now it’s only 26 humidity..What we need is rain and plenty of it..Last year floods..this year drought.

I swung by the store to get more strawberries...I had finished off my last basket..Love them!

And WV enjoyed having you and we are looking forward to seeing Mama_Bear real soon. Wish you were coming with her and Mr. Bear. We are making plans already. We had a handiman in even today to repair doors, fix the corner of the house that I took off with my van several years ago, and painted the back deck. There are things yet to be done. I have been too busy to even stop by and say hello here. July promises to be wall to wall busy, but after camp meeting, We will have 8 days to rest up before MB arrives.

Son has put up a web site for Union United Methodist Camp Meeting. He is still working on it, but there are some pictures from last year there. Open the book to see the pics. They are fuzzy at first, but clear up in a second. You can just google the name. I sent him some pics of you guys & Marissa from when you were there, but he didn't get them up yet.

I see from some of the posts that Daisy made it home. I’m glad to hear that. I knew that Doggie had come home, but last I knew, Daisy was still missing.

We have been so cool here I’ve had to wear a sweater, and the corn won’t grow because the ground is still too cold.

I just can’t imagine this cool you have! We have had some nice 70 early mornings but the afternoons and early evenings are killers. Next chance for a shower is Tuesday..and a chance for some cooling off.

I am sure your farmers are hurting.
