Yes,God commanded we USE the resources but so much of modern society,Western and non Western, have too often ravaged those precious God given gifts to despoil this wonderful Earth.

Capitalism, with VOLUNTARY charity towards others, is right in line with biblical principles, and has given us the best possible lifestyle, and the most generous population on earth.
Also, despite your claim of despoilation, there are more trees and the air, water, and earth are cleaner than ever in our country. We have in no way “ravaged and despoiled” the earth, especially our part of it.
It’s only a twisted mind, that of a lib, that thinks that using resources is bad. You have to reject God’s gift of resources (and His existance) in order to have this mindset. This mindset is based on trying to fill that “God shaped, I matter” hole in your soul.
As for the “mansions” that people build - it’s just a sign of increased lifestyle. Yes, it would be better for them, our society, and our country, to have one income, a modest house and lifestyle, and raise high-character families.
As CS Lewis writes, Pride is probably the biggest sin. The evidence that it is such a despicable sin is our visceral hatred of it when we see it in others. Lewis also states, however, that the more you are reviled by it in others, the more you need to examine yourself for the same sin.
