That's true, but if it's in trinary it's 39 decimal.
But room "numbers" tend not to be really numbers at all, they're often names conveying location information. For example, if Room "101" is on the first floor, you might expect to find Room "201" on the second floor (or in another building, or in unusual situations on the 20th floor). And you would normally expect to find Room "202A" very close to Room "201" and not "numbered" 8234 (mentally 202A in base-sixteen) decimal.
