I have to run a couple of errands, anyway, so I’ll see you later!

Afternoon! I’ve been to library and Walmart. Now I plan to put Vlad to bed and then see who’s left.

Wednesday says, “Quark!” She’s Annoyed.

Ugh. My search for speaking material took me ona short journey through federal legislation. Uglier than I thought. Looking at an agriculture bill, in the middle of a section called “Softwoods”, are a couple of items related to telephones!

Sigh. Nice rain this morning, now turning to Evil Yellow Face.

My sister bought a deli a little while back. Recent power outage was a BIG threat... but as soon as they’d removed the food for safe storage, the power came back on. *\;-|

Over the double yellow? Shakin’ my head, here.

I mean, I guess it’s a blast, and all, but there’s a point where fun brings you face-to-face with irreversible error, and you’ve either made one, or are about to.

I’ve a good friend who visited Yosemite in the spring, climbed to the top of Yosemite Falls, stood OUTSIDE the railings, with his toes out in the breeze, and looked straight down umpteen-and-oh-sweet-Jesus-bazillion feet to the bottom, with the water thundering over the edge just off to the side, there, making the very rocks vibrate.

Standing out there on the brink of Death, he said he came as close as he’d ever been to actually HEARING the audible Voice of God, and The Almighty said, simply, “Hey! This is SERIOUS!” As in, “Quit goofin’ off, son! ‘Cuz you know that gravity thing I invented? It plays for KEEPS!”

DANGED sorry to hear about your buddy. Hope his wife and daughter have a solid faith, and a tight network of friends to help them pick up the pieces and go on.

Was that State or Federal legislation??

Here in CA, the Legislature can do this dirty little bit of chicanery called “gut and amend” where a bill that was passed in the Assembly as a bill about ABC, gets gutted of its original language, and amended to be a bill about XYZ as it heads over to the State Senate. It doesn’t go back to the Assembly for new debate; the vote stands even though it’s, essentially, an entirely different bill than what was voted on. It’s just about the lowest of lowdown trickery I can think of.

Do you have to put up with that kind of evil in WA??

You take something that’s popular, introduce it in

...one house, and get it passed, then, on the way to the other house, you do the ol’ switcheroo, and change it into what you REALLY wanted to pass into Law all along.

‘Lo! I’m cleaning! A couple of ladies from church are coming over this evening - one needs help with her sons’ high school curriculum - and the downstairs is a disaster!

It’s it time for a Restorative yet?

I’d MAKE time for a restorative!

I still have to vacuum up feathers and bird seed and cat lint, but I was waiting for a more appropriate hour, since I was up at 0500 this morning.

I tore the place apart trying to find the latest statement from the insurance company that says what my premium is. No luck. I HATE when I do that! :o])
