Morning, all. Just a drive-by, since I’ve already been in the office 2-1/2 hours and am still swamped, though it’s less e-mail and more technical standard prepublication review.

What kind of blade did you get. We had a mix of Dell, HP and IBM. But Dell is going or gone.
They moved all the blades out of my area that I know of. My once sever farm is down to a vegetable garden. I only backed it up at night on call lately. My next project is helping taking down and removed from the rack 150 severs to be shipped to Phoenix on a Saturday morning. The folks in Phoenix need to have ready for business monday morning.

HP BladeCenter. 7 2-node Intel QuadCore half height blades with 4GB of DDR2-667 and internal 73GB 15kRPM SAS RAID1. FC to a MSA2000. Twin 300GB RAID1 partitions on 300GB 10kRPM SAS drives. Another 16 750GB SATA 7200RPM drives finish out the storage cluster.
We'll have expansion room for 7 more half height blades and 28 drive slots for either SATA or SAS drives.
w00t!

Thank you! I’m feeling much older today :-). Just back from the cardiologist with Bill - Bill’s heart is perfect.
Wednesday is still angry. She was going to tell me about it, but Anoreth turned up.

Happy Birthday, I am think of a very long Spanish happy birthday song that my brother knows. I have never heard him finish the song before we moved on to the cake. Proper people don't eat cake and sing at the same time.
I will never get older because my older brother is older and I am younger.
I have heard cats hold grudge's.

Rock ‘n’ roll!
Long story, but I ended up with an old Presario (450MHz P3, 224MB RAM) sans HD. I dug into my closet and found an old Maxtor 400MB HD and 5.25 floppy drive, which I installed. HD is blank, and formatted FAT16.
I’m thinking I’ll use it to show the kids what life was like in the dark ages a decade ago. Maybe load up my old copy of Turbo Pascal and let ‘em bang around with that.
God knows I want ‘em to have SOME appreciation for the level of technology that surrounds them.
“Here. You write a program that says “Hello” in yellow letters centered on a dark blue screen, and then I’ll let you play your favorite game on the XP box for an hour.”

I have DOS 5.0 still in the sealed box. I hopping it will be worth something someday like the old Victrola cylinders my dad used for target practice.

... old Victrola cylinders my dad used for target practice.[CRINGE!!] I know people who collect those; they're actually WORTH something to the right person.
I have copies of MS-DOS 6.01, and Windows 3.11 at home.
I also have an 8-bit Sanyo MBC-1150 built around the Z-80 that runs CPM off of 5.25 floppies. I even have the old MX-80FT printer out in the shed. In the original box, yet.

Yes. They’re a desert animal - it probably would have been bad for frogs! We bought them some turnip greens this afternoon, and a cucumber.
I’m looking forward to getting the offspring to bed, taking a second shower, and then sitting around with Wednesday.

My grandparents never threw anything out unless it was rotted or unrepairable.
My parents never threw anything out unless it was rotted, unrepairable, or just plain worn out.
I never throw anything out unless it’s rotted, unrepairable, worn out, or cheaper to replace than repair.
My kids will never throw anything out unless it’s rotted, unrepairable, worn out, cheaper to replace than repair, or there’s a newer model available that has more features.
