....I HOPE YOU GET THIS, I DISABLED MY CHIP AND WE INVENTED A TIME MACHINE TO SEND MESSAGES THROUGH TIME SO I HOPE YOU GET THIS. UH OH! GUARDS ARE COMING GOTTA GO!
Die Dirty Dog of a Troll!!!
lol
Whoa! For a while, I thought we were being invaded by the Evil Mathmaticians.
Since I don’t speak their language, I won’t worry about what they say.
The author doesn’t believe we’re All Gonna Die from Globull Warming any time soon.
I didn’t understand it, either, on a quick look, but I might try later.
The difference is that once the damage by the volcanoes has been done, the earth begins to heal itself and reverse the damage. Man is WAY behind in that!
I believe in “climate change,” because the weather’s a bit different each year. Last year we had a major drought, and this year rainfall is only a little below average.
Someone was observing recently that the ongoing wildfires in California are producing a lot more carbon dioxide than even Al Gore does ... but nobody cares.
And in 10 years, the areas where the fires were will be full of new life. :o]) MUCH better than what Al Gore offers.
Al Gore is likely to be worm food.
THEN he will be truly useful!
His stupidity defies the laws of physics.
I agree. I sometimes say, about such people, that I’m surprised they have enough brain activity to sustain heartbeat and respiration.
Tomorrow is my great Brownie adventure, subject of much rambling here and several nightmares at home. At 3:00 p.m., we will assemble at a pottery studio, where the girls will get to mold clay dishes or figurines. Then we’ll go to the Girl Scout Council facility, where they have little buildings (”Pods”) available for troop use. There is a climbing activity (”bouldering”) which one of our moms is trained to lead. Then we’ll have supper. Then they can play games or do crafts. I’m taking our seashells from Myrtle Beach, some glue, and some magnet-backing, and they can make shell magnets. Then we’ll have ice cream and they will, hopefully, eventually, fall asleep.
Tuesday morning (my birthday - after a night with the Brownies, I’ll be turning 45 instead of the expected 42 ...) we’ll get up and clean up, and all should be gone by 9:00 a.m. I have to take Bill to the cardiologist in the afternoon, so they can look at his valve again.
Man. I get so out of breath when you telll me of your schedules!
Wow. How did you manage a three year jump in your age? I’m going backwards, now. Once I hit 50, I began to age in reverse.
Keep us posted on Bill’s condition.
A Girl Scouts’ overnight ages one very rapidly :-).
This event has come together very well - out of 12 girls, all but one is expected for at least part of the time, and I e-mailed her mom to ask if she couldn’t at least come make pottery. (The girl was going to be camping this weekend!)
I hadn’t done many outings with the girls this past year, although lots of fun meetings. I was intimidated by trying to set something up that would work for so many people. After my success with ice skating in May, and this event (fingers crossed) going to be a success, too, I’ll have more initiative with the Junior troop starting in the fall.
Elen keeps asking about stuff, “Can we make pottery? Can we go to the Juliette Low house in Savannah?” and I say, “When the troop meets in September, make your suggestions, and if the other girls like them, then start planning how you’ll pay for it!” One suggestion from the instructor at the Junior Leader training I took earlier this month was to sell coffee and doughnuts at the poll in November. (Bill and Anoreth were already considering this ... but they could work another poll if the Girl Scouts are going to sell at my home precinct!)
Wellnow. Confidence comes out of nowhere! It all depends on where you want to focus your ambition. And it sounds as if you can focus and excel! No wonder your kids are so awesome! They have an awesome MOM!!
He’s had the heart murmur for at least 8 years, and had an echocardiogram back in Tulsa that showed a leaky valve. This is just another echo to make sure nothing has changed. The surgery to repair it is fairly simple, if it ever interferes with something he wants to do. It’s not keeping him from running or drumming, at the moment!
He got to play the whole drum set for one of our songs at Mass today - major thrill. It went kind of slowly, but we’ll see if we can use it on a different song for next week. We have a limited set of songs that we do, so the congregation can be familiar with them, so we like to change the arrangements if we can, to keep it interesting.
My son and I both outgrew our murmurs, but it’s a good idea to watch them during school years, especially.
Confidence comes from succeeding at something you thought you couldn’t do! Knowing that I have this tendency to not want to try something if I don’t think it will work, I can help the children through the “paralyzed” stage into achieving their goals, while remaining sympathetic.
Tom started the Reptile and Amphibian Study badge last summer (2007) and hadn’t made much progress on his remaining activities until DP said, “No computer use until it’s done!” Then we found that three of the activities took about 2 hours of Internet research each, and finished up with the presentation he gave on Friday. The next time he faces a situation like this, he’ll jump into it with more confidence.
The same thing happened with Anoreth’s college registration: we said she could have her computer back when she was enrolled for the fall semester, and it was done in about 2 weeks. The only think I had to do was take her paperwork over there to show she’s a high school graduate, and write a check for the tuition!
