They still have a ton of post-production work to do. But the trailer looks very promising.

I'm glad they dropped the idiotic voice the guy playing Rorschach wanted to use. Tibetan throat singing might be fun at parties, but Rorschach's monotone should be SPOOKY and dehumanizing. Not silly and irritating.

I’ll look forward to its release.

How are things in the North Woods?

Busy. But getting there. My lawn mower broke. I need a new motor for it, but I need to tear the old one out first. They don't make that part number motor, so I need to take some measurements for a replacement.

I may try for a similar sized, but higher horsepower, unit. Zon also gave me the "Green light" to find a snowblower attachment for it as well.

w00t!

WOO-HOO! Snowblower attachment! “More power!”
Once you get everything fixed, replaced or discarded, will you start on your forge?

Tom’s presentation went fine. My friend Debbie’s oldest daughter wants her own snake now :-). Debbie will be disappointed - she hoped her daughter would change her mind after handling Susan!

The dragons were happy with their cricket meal. Susan ate two mice. The anoles just sat there.

Now I’m going to Wal-mart for some takeout chicken and fries, and some milk and Kleenex. Then probably the library in the afternoon, after Vlad goes to bed.

Yes, or more a fragment of it.
Worst part of the whole mess is that, this will sound weird, the characters tell me the tale.
Only they tell it in bits and pieces, and they don’t follow linear timeline on it either.
Much like when speaking to someone in person.
This fragment is the beginning of what will be book three, set two thousand years after the events detailed in facing the Archon and his son. (Books one and two.)

As you see, Abilene the meddler is right there in the thick of it, the rotten imp.

What a tough life and afterlife poor Karsh has.

..will you start on your forge?

Already started working on it. I'm rebuilding the old fire/barbeque pit to accept a hand-bellows. Already have the wood cut for the bellows. Just need to score some brass sheet and some leather.

He’ll live.
(Pardon the pun.)

Alot changes in two thousand years.
Especially considering that technology in his world stayed at swords and spears for ten millenia.
He’s going to have a steep learning curve in the last book.
He’s going to be surprised when technology responds to him as if were solid and living.
So will nearby people when they don’t see anything standing there.
*snickering at Kentu’s discomfort on this one.*

Very interesting. I’m sure the poor man wishes you’d left him dead. Does he have matching socks, at least?

“What, pray tell, are these ‘socks’ I keep hearing about?”

Not a positive indicator I’m afraid.
Just wait until he hears about cloning.
*semi spoiler hint*

I’m looking forward to the scene where he encounters a clothes dryer.

The words “Smoking hulk” come to mind for that momentous event.
(By then, we’ll have seen him conquer transportation, doors, and even shopping outlets.)

Were they not pseudobipedal predators with porcupine like spikes where he comes from, he’d have more than one.
(Rabbits are the size of a smallish house, and called ‘norkel’. Will be easily apparent why avoiding them is a good idea when they appear in the story. Rule of thumb in these tales, if it’s ‘cute’, it can probably kill you in a horrible fashion.)

Anoreth is writing a story about dragons who sell drugs and run illegal-alien smuggling rings. The dragons are afraid of cats, so savvy people carry kittens around.

Dragons, eh?
Cats, the avatar of the Egyptian goddess Bast..?
Interesting.

She says the dragons are afraid of birds, too - but it’s obviously easier to carry a kitten.

Having a peach faced lovebird that is a vengeful finger chomper, I can see being reduced to abject terror by birds.
