Except for the fact that if the artist deals with iTunes directly, the ARTIST gets the money.
LOTS of indie acts have discovered that about iTunes.
Sounds like Kid Rock is a moron.
Or bound by a contract with his record label company which very likely enjoins him from dealing directly with iTunes.
Which would make him...not a moron. And neither are the recording label lawyers.
