Lakers 92 at Celtics 131
HAVE A CIGAR!

One of the greatest wins, for this Celtic fan in a long time, and I can surely understand the disappointment of the Lakers fans. That was embarrassing for them.
They did want it more, but they also play great defense, which the Lakers don’t, and I believe it came down to that.
Celtics can defend.
If the Lakers want to win a championship, I agree, stop with the euro bricklayers, get rid of the utterly useless Walton kid whose only their because of his name, get some players who can play defense, and get a shooting guard whose good enough to keep Kobe from going into me-me-me mode.
The only part I disagree on with you is Gasol. Keep him.
:-)
I'm glad for Doc though.
He was one of my favorites when he played for The New York Knicks, and I despise Kobe Bryant.
Who's got the last laugh, baby?
You forgot to mention Rajon Rondo, the superb Celtic guard. Rondo is a former Univ. of Kentucky player. From the games I saw, the Celtics would not have won without Rondo’s precision passing, amazing assists and overall defense.
LA coach Jackson said Rondo just picked them apart tonight.

“Since the Lakers have won five titles since the last time the Celtics won one”
Actually 4. The one in 2002 was a gift from the referees, as I well recall.
The Death Star, (Kobe), is destroyed, but the Emperor (David Stern), still rules.
Oh I forgot Rondo, being caught up in the joy of victory. Thanks Rondo.
Can you elaborate? I do not watch thugball myself, but I am curious.
Hey, Hot Stuff. There was a homicide at the “Boston Garden” last night .... the Lakers got murdered!
Each had a previous player, now serving as an executive of another team, "give" them the talent they needed to win this year.
I am from WVA and I remembver when our dad took us to see West in college. He has always been a hero in our family. But when I saw him blubbery at the west div trophy presentation, I lost respect for him. He's supposed to be working for Memphis and he pised away their best player in a gift to LA. As did McHale for Boston.
Exactly! Doc Rivers got his team to play their best for 48 minutes, and doubly so since he knew Joey Crawford (Stern’s Mr. Fixit) was on the floor officiating the game. If it had been close at the end, Mr. Fixit would have taken care of things for Stern.
Did you notice in the post-game awards ceremony that every time Stern took the microphone there was loud booing from the fans? That says alot about how fans view Mr. David Stern.
Uh huh. Gore won in 2000, too.
“...Gasol acted like he was totally intimidated...”
You’ll have to excuse Gasol. He played for the Memphis Grizzlies for a number of horribly losing years. He finally gets to the Big Time and he doesn’t react properly. Give him a break. It takes time to get re-programmed. He’s had a lot of losing in his career and it takes a while to flush all that out of your system. Maybe next year he’ll be better. The Grizzlies are a horrible team to come from.
Here’s the reason why the Lakers lost: four members of the Lakers’ roster grew up playing European-style basketball (mostly perimeter game and unable to play interior defense), which meant when the Celtics turned up the interior defense, that was the end of the Lakers as the Celtics could key in on Kobe Bryant.
I know I do.
Hey, BB, long time no see:) I know and my heart just breaks for Kobe....NOT.
The Dodgers seem to be slouching towards ignominy this year also, although they managed a win last night.
Congrats to your boys in green.
I don’t watch either, but since I was already tuned to that channel, I “observed” the opening ceremonies.
The players are lined up on the court, standing. Not ONE will put his hand to his heart during our National Anthem. Some just fidget and shift weight from one foot to other. Some have their heads bowed and eyes closed. Are they praying for Obama to become president?
I hate to admit it, but I’ve seen similar behavior from NASCAR drivers.
